Everything to know about BTS’s Jungkook: Age, abs, hits, and more

Is your stan meter off the charts because of how perfectly wonderful BTS continues to prove themselves to be? Both Jimin and Jungkook have been recently blowing away fans with their solo careers. Heck, even if you’re not a fan of BTS you’ve probably heard of these BTS members. That’s how dang well their music is performing on international charts! 

In this article, we’ve set our sights on Jungkook as today’s adonis of choice. Boo isn’t just making waves in the music industry – he’s making tsunamis. The song “My Time” has been on the top ten Billboard World Digital Song Sales Charts for 27 weeks and “Euphoria” has been up there for 31. 

If you don’t find that impressive, we don’t know what will impress you. The short film Euphoria: Theme of Love Yourself 起 Wonder that was released as a part of the “Euphoria” music video was pretty cinematic. The age of baby Jungkook and more

We call Jungkook baby not because of a whiny attitude, but because he’s not only the youngest child in his family, but the youngest band member in BTS. Age has not held the K-pop sensation back in any way though. He’s shown off his artistic prowess time and time again. 

Jungkook was born in Busan, South Korea on September 1, 1997. Did you know Jungkook didn’t originally want to be in the music industry? When Jungkook was at a young age he actually wanted to be a badminton player. Can you imagine if this hottie was blasting shuttlecocks instead of gracing the world with his vocals? I’m sure many people thank the universe that life didn’t end up that way.

Jungkook was actually inspired to become a vocalist after watching G-Dragon perform “Heartbreaker” on TV. We have OG K-pop idol G-Dragon to thank for the star that is now Jungkook. The desire to become a singer was awakened in Jungkook at that time and he started pursuing his new dream from then on. 

Jungkook attended Baekyang Elementary and Middle School and then went on to attend Seoul Performing Art High School. Jungkook’s age is now 23 and he seems to be living his best life with the other band members of BTS.

Jungkook’s rise to stardom 

Jungkook is known as “Golden Maknae” because he’s such a jack of all trades. You probably already know that Jungkook is not only a silky-voiced singer but a rhythmic rapper and stellar dancer too. As with most people’s origin stories, Jungkook’s talent wasn’t always a hundred percent acknowledged. 

Jungkook auditioned for the third season of a show called Superstar K’s and was dropped out of the process. Luckily, that didn’t mean there weren’t plenty of labels who wanted to sign him. Jungkook ended up getting signed with Big Hit Entertainment. He became a part of BTS in eighth grade. Imagine training to be a superstar at such a young age – but that path is pretty normal for aspiring K-pop stars.

Jungkook worked hard to improve the skills that would make him a pop star worth rooting for. He trained with Movement Lifestyle in LA in the summer of 2012 and worked as a backup dancer in the now disbanded group called Glam. I bet they never realized the amazing K-pop idol their backup help would turn out to be. 

Jungkook has always worked on being a great singer and dancer. His athleticism is pretty high, so it’s no surprise he has killer abs that he’s not afraid to show off. Jungkook made his debut as a member of BTS on June 12, 2013. Jungkook fans everywhere thank the universe for that day.

Fun facts about Jungkook 

Jungkook’s astrological sign is a Virgo. His blood type is A and his height is 179 cm
(about five feet and ten inches). All that time spent around makeup helps make him into the pretty boy that he is, and has caused Jungkook to take an interest in it – he’s pretty knowledgeable. Jungkook has also taken up boxing which isn’t that surprising considering how athletic he is.

Jungkook is really adamant about becoming fluent in English. He finds it difficult, but has not given up. He really wants to help RM in future English interviews because he feels bad that RM has to take the lead all the time in that department. One of the English words that Jungkook finds most difficult to pronounce is “frustrated”. 

Ironic, we know. Jungkook is frustrated with the word frustrated. Maybe the frustration he feels in trying to pronounce that word makes him understand just a tiny bit of the frustration his stans feel in not being able to become his best friend.
