Are you curious about what Chris Hemsworth does with his net worth when on his off time? Here's what Hemsworth has been up to in 2020.

How Chris Hemsworth is using his net worth for good

Ah Chris Hemsworth, whose muscles are as big as his heart, which is pretty damn big. Between multiple franchises and films, the star has an impressive net worth. One that only looks to grow with each film that he adds to his impressive resume. But how is using that impressive net worth for good? Does he donate to charity? How does he help his fellow man?

Well if you’re curious about what Chris Hemsworth does with his net worth when on his off time? Is his heart really that big in real life? It’s time to remind ourselves that not all celebrities are like Ellen DeGeneres, who with each new allegation disappoints us even more.

So here’s how Hemsworth’s used his money in order to help people over the course of 2020.

$1 million USD to Australian wildfire relief

2020 has been a veritable roller coaster of horribleness, punctuated by out of control fires swallowing large portions of various countries. In Jan, it was Australia that was quite literally feeling the burn in some of the worst wildfires that the nation has ever seen. They started in Sept. 2019 and raged for months. Things are recovering, though with COVID and other factors it’s slow going admittedly.

In Jan, Chris Hemsworth and his pledged to donate $1 million USD to help the recovery efforts for the Australian wildfires. Considering that the fires destroyed an area of land the size of South Korea? It definitely helps. Hemsworth also called on other celebs to “chip in” and help. Margot Robbie and Nicole Kidman also donated to the relief efforts.

In a statement, Hemsworth said, “I’m going to put forward a million dollars and was hoping you can contribute in any shape or form. That money goes directly to the firefighters, the people on the front lines, the people who have suffered, the communities that have taken a hit and who are in desperate need of our support.”

Wildlife Conservation

Chris Hemsworth is clearly bored in quarantine. The actor appeared on the live weather segment of Australia’s Weekend Today, surprising reporter Lauren Philips as she discussed horses in the area. She asked for Hemsworth’s help in reading temperature forecasts for the area, which he did. And wow, the weather got so much more interesting listening to Hemsworth talk about it, huh?

Philips also took the time for a quick interview with Hemsworth. She asked what he was doing in the area. It turns out that he was visiting some wildlife conservation organizations. Hemsworth said that they “are doing some amazing conservation work protecting Australia’s ecosystems.”

On Monday, Hemsworth also revealed on his Instagram that he would be taking part in a “free, live, global event to change how we tackle climate change” that will take place on Oct. 10.

AGBO Superhero League

With the new season of the MCU fantasy football league (or AGBO Superhero League) underway, Robert Downey Jr. took to Twitter to announce that $250,000 USD of the League’s prize money will be donated to various charities on behalf of the late Chadwick Boseman. Hemsworth is the current top dog of the League so it’s charity by association?

Over the course of the fantasy football season, the AGBO Superhero League will see $1.25 million USD be donated to various charities with the $250,000 USD in memory of Boseman being in addition to the normal amount.
