Conor McGregor has been accused of sexual assault and exhibition. Here's what everyone on Twitter has had to say.

Is Conor McGregor a sexual predator? Twitter’s allegations

Conor McGregor has been accused of sexual assault and exhibition. The UFC superstar reportedly flashed his genitals to a married woman at a bar when he was vacationing in the south of France. McGregor was taken into custody and questioned over these accusations last week, but he has not been formally charged.

A witness told France 3 Corse that McGregor cornered the married woman as she attempted to use a barroom bathroom. “McGregor, accompanied by his bodyguards, allegedly exhibited his private parts to the young woman without her consent as she made her way into the bar toilets,” the outlet stated. “It deeply shocked the woman, who was on holiday in Calvi with her husband.”

Assault allegations

French authorities subjected McGregor to various physical tests during his questioning. They told The Sun that they are waiting on the results of these tests to determine if they will continue to pursue McGregor as the prime suspect.

“Key physical tests were carried out on the suspect, but the results will not be known until after the weekend,” claimed an investigating source. “These tests are of a routine nature following incidents like this, but they take time, to make sure there is no doubt about them.”

The source also told The Sun that the sexual incident may have been caught on video, which would provide the ironclad evidence that authorities need. “It is possible that the incident being complained about was filmed,” they revealed. “It took place in a very busy place, where fixed cameras are situated everywhere. Lots of holidaymakers would also have been filming and taking pictures on their phones, so they need to be spoken to.”

General denial

McGregor has firmly denied the allegations made against him. “Conor McGregor vigorously denies any accusations of misconduct,” a spokesperson for the fighter told the New York Post. “He has been interviewed and released.”

McGregor’s manager Audie Attar also issued a statement that questioned the motives of the accuser and warned her not to proceed with her claims. “I am irate and putting out a warning loud and clear,” Attar wrote. “Conor McGregor is not and will not be a target for those seeking to score a headline or a payday.”

Twitter backlash

McGregor indirectly referenced the allegations in a series of deleted tweets. After users began criticizing the fighter and denounced their fandom, he tweeted out a message that read: “I can’t go on like this man. I am crushed here.” He also tweeted fans who openly mocked his denial.

“Suicide intervention yet ridiculing me in this manner online, at this horrendous time in my life,” McGregor wrote. “I am trying to stay strong for my kids and the people that rely on me and that love and support me. Thanks for the insults, hypocrite.”

Criminal history

This is not the first time McGregor has been in trouble with the law. The UFC star was sentenced to anger management class and community service after pleading guilty to disorderly conduct in 2019. The disorder included the smashing of a dolly into a bus at the Barclays Center and the subsequent hospitalization of fellow UFC fighter Michael Chiesa.

McGregor’s record doesn’t stop there. He was arrested for strong-armed robbery and criminal mischief after smashing a man’s phone in March 2019, and he chose to settle out of court for an undisclosed sum. He was also charged with assault after punching a man in April 2019. The UFC star pleaded guilty to the assault and was fined €1,000.

French authorities told The Sun that they should have the results of McGregor’s tests within a week.
