The One Where They Reuinite! If you want to see the cast reunite, then here’s everything we know about the upcoming reunion special for 'Friends'.

Everything you need to know about the ‘Friends’ reunion

They’ll be there for you. Well, if you want to pay the $14.99 USD a month for HBO Max now that Friends is off Netflix. While HBO Max is still a couple of months away from premiering, we have an idea of the content that is coming down the pipeline. There’s no Friends revival in the works, but a reunion special has been confirmed.

Whether or not you want to take a side on if Friends has aged poorly or David Schwimmer forgetting that Living Single existed is up to you. If you want to see the cast reunite, then here’s everything we know about the upcoming reunion special for Friends.

It’s a reunion special

The special is an hour-long reunion special where people get together and reminisce about Friends. So it’s no revival or reboot, just an unscripted get together with some key cast members.

Who is coming back?

The entire original cast of Friends is set to return and not too cheap either. Deadline confirmed that Jennifer Aniston (Rachel), Courtney Cox (Monica), Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe), David Schwimmer (Ross), Matthew Perry (Chandler), and Matt LeBlanc (Joey) will all return for the special after some intense negotiations.

Each actor is apparently being paid between $3-4 million USD in order to appear in the special.

What does this accomplish?

The special is set to launch the airing of Friends reruns on the new streaming service, which recently departed Netflix. HBO Max reportedly dropped $425 million USD for the streaming rights of the beloved series.

Honestly, it’s a solid time to make the special. Last year, 2019, Friends celebrated its 25th anniversary, which is a pretty huge landmark for the series.

When will it air?

Currently, we have no release date on when the special will drop. HBO Max will launch in May 2020. So hopefully we’ll have some idea of when the special will be released after that.
