When Marie Osmond announced she was leaving 'The Talk,' fans were shocked. Here's what she's been up to since her surprising announcement.

What has Marie Osmond been up to since leaving ‘The Talk’?

Not long after Marie Osmond announced she was leaving The Talk, people began to speculate that there might’ve been some foul play involved in her departure. Despite all the drama, Osmond appears to be living her best life now. Here’s what she’s been up to since leaving the daytime show.

Why did Marie Osmond really leave?

According to a source close to Marie Osmond, The Talk’s co-host, Sharon Osbourne, never liked the TV personality. The insider explained that “Marie thought the show would be fun and just a bunch of gals gabbing about their lives and whatnot, but she found out that she was totally naive. Sharon disliked her from the start.”

The insider also claimed Osbourne was “jealous of her” and believed Osmond “didn’t belong” on The Talk. In addition, “Sharon’s sat on the panel longer than anyone else and feels that gives her the right to lead the discussion. She has a great deal of power over what happens on The Talk and that pushed Marie out.”

What is Marie Osmond up to now?

When she left The Talk, Marie Osmond told fans she had high hopes for her future. She explained that “One of the highlights of my year at #TheTalk was working with my dear friend John Redmann [the former EP and showrunner of The Talk].”

Osmond continued, saying,“I’m excited to continue our working relationship on several projects we are developing.”

And, as for her personal life, things couldn’t be sunnier for Osmond. She explained that “My husband and I just dropped our last two kids off at college, we looked at each other, laughed and remembered we hadn’t been this alone together since 1982!!”

“So, at this stage of my life, I’m looking forward to spending more time with him and visiting all of the kids/grandkids,” Osmond explained.

Osmond and her husband, Steve Craig, enjoyed some special bonding time during the holidays, which was exemplified by a hilarious post of her struggling to decorate their huge tree. “This is what happens when you finally get to spend Christmas with just your husband!!” she tweeted. “I only decorated our tree as far as I could reach. Is this considered a #HalfOffSale?!”

Touchy subject?

When asked, Marie Osmond did not want to discuss her sudden departure from The Talk. She did tell the Daily Mail, however, that her professional career is blossoming just like her personal life.

Osmond went back into the acting world and appeared in the films The Road Home for Christmas (2019) and The Christmas Edition (2020). “Am I great?” she said. “No. But you have to be willing to go for it.”

Osmond added: “I loved making those films, they were great experiences, and I am truly happy people want to see me act.”

Times they are a-changing

As for The Talk, the departure of Marie Osmond isn’t the only thing that’s going to be different for the show’s future.

Eve recently also said bye-bye to the show but assured fans that her leaving was supported by her co-workers. She described telling the others she was leaving: “The first thing that happened was you all were like, ‘Girl, we’re happy for you. You better go do – you got stuff to do! You better go!”

Now, The Talk is going to be hosted by dancer Amanda Kloots and author & journalist Elaine Welteroth. There’s no doubt the show is going to look pretty different from the one we’ve grown to know & love, but one thing’s for sure – there will be no shortage of fun gossip in 2021.
