Hulu is home to some of the best movies & TV shows, but even those with a subscription to the streaming service might not know what to watch next. There are so many options and sometimes all of them can seem like too much.

It can be easy to browse through Hulu’s many categories for hours while trying to pick just one film or show to watch. Here are some of the best movies to watch on Hulu. We’ve included some new & old films spanning many genres. Hopefully this list narrows down some Hulu options for you to continue your streaming journey.

Palm Springs (2020, rated R)

Palm Springs is a raunchy romcom where two wedding guests in Palm Springs get stuck in a time loop. The two main characters, played by Andy Samberg & Cristin Milloti, have to relive the same day over & over. In the process of trying to figure out how to get back to reality, they develop feelings for each other.

The Prestige (2006, rated PG-13)

The Prestige is a classic film for Hugh Jackman fans and one of the many wonderful films from director Christopher Nolan. Jackman plays the main character, but other great actors in the film include Christian Bale, Scarlett Johansson, Rebecca Hall, Andy Serkis, and David Bowie.

The Prestige takes place near the end of the 19th century with Jackman & Bale playing rival magicians. Bale’s character does a trick that seems impossible, and Jackman’s character goes to great lengths trying to figure out how he accomplished such magic.

Romeo + Juliet (1996, rated PG-13)

Directed by Baz Luhrman, Romeo + Juliet joins the list of Shakespeare movies retelling the classic story in creative ways. Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes play each others’ love interests. The film is set in the 1990s at Verona Beach, but the language sounds Shakespearian. The way the characters deliver these poetic lines puts a comedic spin on this retold romance.

Rocketman (2019, rated R)

Rocketman a musical biopic of Elton John’s early career starring Taron Egerton, Richard Madden, Jamie Bell, and Bryce Dallas Howard. The film goes deep into themes relating to John’s substance abuse & familial problems, giving viewers a closer look into the singer’s life.

Parasite (2019, rated R)

One of the most notable movies of the year Parasite, a South Korean film directed by Bong Joon-ho, received many awards after its release including the 2019 Academy Award for Best Picture.

Exploring themes of  income inequality and class discrimination, Parasite follows the story of a family of squatters who con a rich family. Parasite is beautifully written with many plot twists throughout the film to keep viewers on the edges of their seats.

Professor Marston & the Wonder Women (2017, rated R)

Professor Marston & the Wonder Women tells the true story of how the Wonder Woman character came to be. The film was directed by Angela Robinson and stars Luke Evans, Rebecca Hall, Bella Heathcote, Oliver Platt, and Connie Britton. Evans plays a professor named William Moulton Marston.

Marston and his wife, played by Hall, go into a polyamorous relationship with a student. The women inspire Marston to create Wonder Woman, a character who is used to advance his ideas about DISC theory and feminism.

The Cabin in the Woods (2011, rated R)

The Cabin in the Woods is perfect for fans of horror and features a star-studded cast with Chris Hemsworth, Kristen Connoly, Fran Kranz, Jesse Williams, Richard Jenkins, and Bradley Whitford. The Cabin in the Woods follows the story of some college students who go to stay in a remote cabin.

When the students get there and settle in, some scary supernatural occurrences start to happen. There’s even an underground bunker where the supernatural things seem to come from. The Cabin in the Wood is a spooky watch and is guaranteed to creep viewers out.

Run (2020, rated PG-13)

Run is a mystery thriller directed by Aneesh Chaganty starring Kiera Allen and Sarah Paulson. The film tells the story of a teenage girl named Chloe who lives her life under the control of her mother due to her illnesses and need for a wheelchair. But Chloe realizes she might not be as sick as her mother makes it seem and plans her escape.
