Nintendo Direct: All the leaks about tomorrow’s live stream

In the video game world, Nintendo Direct is the equivalent of Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference. It leads many people to try to leak what Nintendo would announce during the event. From new games & console announcements to updates about anticipated games, fans are always looking to get ahead of the curve.

Nintendo is hosting the 2021 Nintendo Direct tomorrow. Fans have been leaking event details and possible announcements since the announcement of the event. Here is a roundup of the biggest leaks about Nintendo Direct.

New Pokemon game

There is always speculation there is a new Pokemon game almost every other year. For clarification, we’re talking about the flagship game. 2021 marks the twenty-fifth anniversary of the franchise. It’s widely speculated a Pokemon game will get announced at Nintendo Direct.

The big rumor is that Pokemon Diamond & Pearl are either getting rereleased on the Nintendo Switch or completely remastered with an open world environment like Pokemon Sword & Shield.

The general consensus among fans & critics is that generation 4 is the best of what Pokemon offers, which is why Diamond & Pearl are in discussion for something during the twenty-fifth anniversary. The expectation is this would be the game flagship game to come out of Nintendo Direct.

Detective Pikachu 2

Let’s get all the Pokemon updates out of the way. No, we aren’t talking about the next Ryan Reynolds movie. We are indeed talking about a video game. The movie is based on a video game of the same name. The premise is almost identical, but a few changes here and there are to be expected.

Nintendo released the video game Detective Pikachu in 2016 exclusively in Japan. Then two years later, Nintendo expanded the game and released it worldwide in 2018. However, fans have been patiently waiting for the game’s sequel since the company announced it was coming to the Switch in 2019. Since then, there hasn’t been any news.

Fans are speculating Nintendo Direct 2021 will include some sort of announcement about Detective Pikachu 2. Hopefully, there will be a trailer or game play footage and a release date attached to the announcement. With the twenty-fifth anniversary, two Pokemon games in 2021 would be pretty sweet.

Legends of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2

It might be time to address it, but it’s looking like the Nintendo Switch Pro is not coming anytime soon. According to Nintendo’s North American President Doug Bowser, the Switch Pro is not a priority. It will not likely make an appearance at Nintendo Direct.

Why bring it up here? Well, many speculate Legends of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 is supposed to be a release title for the Switch Pro. However, insiders speculate the game will get announced in 2021, and Nintendo Direct would be the spot to drop some sort of update.

Whether it’s a trailer, game play footage, or a release date, something is coming out of Nintendo Direct. Legends of Zelda turns thirty-five this year.

Metroid 4 Prime

Another entry in the Samus franchise has been highly anticipated since 2017. Nintendo announced at E3 that year, and since then, there have been very few updates. The only update was in 2019 when Nintendo announced the game had been delayed indefinitely. Fans are hoping & speculating 2021 is the year for a Metroid 4 update.
