One year later: Where is the ‘Shadowhunters’ cast now?

Missing the Shadowhunters crew? It’s been a year since the cast said goodbye to fans, but they’ve been keeping themselves busy with a slew of new projects. Since the Shadowhunters finale, the show has also received a few awards thanks to loyal fans.

Shadowhunters won the Teen Choice Award and People’s Choice Award for Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy Show, and Katherine McNamara (Clary Fray) won the Teen Choice Award for Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy Actress. The series has also been nominated for a GLAAD Award and Jupiter Award.

The Shadowhunters cast has been particularly busy getting starring roles in TV shows, acting in movies, and even setting up fundraisers for the recent pandemic. Here’s what your favorite cast member has been doing lately.

Katherine McNamara (Clary Fray)

Katherine McNamara made moves at The CW and entered the DC Universe. She became a main cast member in Arrow during its final season as Mia Smoak a.k.a. Green Arrow a.k.a. the daughter of Oliver Queen & Felicity Smoak. Because of a massive DC crossover episode, she has also appeared in Supergirl, Batwoman, and The Flash

Though Arrow ended earlier this year, you can catch McNamara in the upcoming limited series The Stand, based on Stephen King’s 1978 novel. The Stand is slated to premiere on CBS All Access later this year.

McNamara will also be in a few upcoming movies including Finding You, romance thriller Push, and Charlie Day’s (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) directorial debut El Tonto

Dominic Sherwood (Jace Harondale)

Dominic Sherwood hasn’t made many appearances since he said goodbye to Jace Harondale, but the actor can now be seen as a gun-wielding chauffeur in Showtime’s Penny Dreadful: City of Angels

Matthew Daddario (Alec Lightwood)

Matthew Daddario has been lying low since the end of Shadowhunters. While he hasn’t starred in anything released since last year, he will star alongside Katherine McNamara in Push

Emeraude Toubia (Isabelle Lightwood)

Since the Shadowhunters finale, Emeraude Toubia has starred in Hallmark Channel’s Love in the Sun as Alana, who returns home to Florida and reunites with her high school sweetheart.

You can see what Toubia is up to on her Instagram. In fact, the performer raised over $800 in an Instagram Live charity event for COVID-19 relief.

Alberto Rosende (Simon Lewis)

Alberto Rosende moved to Chicago and became a firefighter in NBC’s Chicago Fire as Blake Gallo. Though there isn’t a release date yet, Rosende will also star in the thriller Story Game, about friends who play a dangerous game while on a camping trip in Hawaii.

Rosende joined & donated to the Red Nose Day event to help vulnerable children who are being affected by COVID-19.

Harry Shum Jr. (Magnus Bane)

Harry Shum Jr. has been busy since Shadowhunters. He’s starred in two thrillers: Escape Plan: The Extractors and Burn. Shum also appeared in the CBS All Access psychological thriller anthology series Tell Me a Story and Comedy Central’s Awkwafina is Nora from Queens

Be on the lookout for Harry starring in the thriller Broadcast Signal Intrusion and romance All My Life, both slated to premiere later this year.

In response to COVID-19, Shum teamed with other Asian Americans to start the #TakeOutHate campaign for Asian & Pacific Islander American Heritage Month.

Isaiah Mustafa (Luke Garroway)

Isaiah Mustafa hasn’t been very busy since we had to say goodbye to Luke Garroway, but he did appear once again as the Old Spice Guy in this year’s Super Bowl.

Mustafa’s only credit has been his starring role in It: Chapter Two as the adult Mike Hanlon.

Alisha Wainwright (Maia Roberts)

You can catch Alisha Wainwright starring in Netflix’s Raising Dion as Nicole Reese, a widowed mother who also just happens to be a superhero. The series was renewed for a second season, so thankfully there’s even more to come.

Wainwright will also star in Palmer alongside Justin Timberlake, June Squibb, and Juno Temple. The feature is about a former college football star who comes back home after spending time in jail; Wainwright plays Timberlake’s love interest.
