Ellen DeGeneres has just recently been ousted for bullying – but when did it start? These stories claim Ellen has been cruel since she was young.

Was the young Ellen DeGeneres a bully? These sources say “yes”

A large sum of people online have been coming forward with horror stories about talk show host Ellen DeGeneres. In fact, the count is over 2,000 at this point and the stories just keep on rolling in.

Celebrities & employees alike have finally spoken up to alert the public about Ellen’s witchy demeanor. Prompted by all this backlash, a workplace harassment investigation was launched in order to expose The Ellen DeGeneres Show for its toxic environment.

Even though Ellen DeGeneres has just recently been revealed as an extraordinarily mean individual (at the age of 62) – that doesn’t mean that her awful attitude manifested not long ago. In fact, sources emphasize that DeGeneres has been a bully since she was young. Here are the stories that claim Ellen has been cruel from the beginning.

Vicious fat-shaming

It’s evident that Ellen thrives on hitting people in their weak spots. Much of her humor revolves around exposing embarrassing facts about celebrities or needlessly making fun of them where it hurts. As it turns out – Ellen’s cruel jabs aren’t just aimed at the guests on her show.

The latest subject to come forward about Ellen’s mean behavior is Ben Gravolet. Gravolet worked for his mother’s recruitment agency when he was a child – only 11-years-old. At this point, Ellen would have been in her early 20s. Gravolet reports that Ellen would consistently insult him. According to DailyMailTV, he says:

“She would criticize my weight. I would try to do homework in the office, she’d call me stupid, she’d call me fat. She would criticize my clothes. I was just a boy and this was a grown woman who took pleasure in seeing me become visibly upset. I don’t think there’s any excuse for it. I was a defenseless kid. What could I have told her back?”

Bullying hurts even when it doesn’t come from an extremely famous person who holds a lot of power over you. It’s not something that you can just forget about either – bullying can stay with you and create insecurities that are hard to shake. Gravolet continues his accusation sharing:

“It has an effect if somebody in a superior position to you, who’s much older, goes ‘You’re fat. You might want to lose some of that weight chunky boy.’ I was always self-conscious about my weight and it made things worse.”

How did she get so famous?

Of course, someone who has made fun of a young kid shouldn’t be heralded as a wonderful person. If Ellen had been so outwardly mean to others as she had been to this kid – it’s a wonder how she got where she is today. Gravolet reflects on Ellen’s celebrity status, saying:

“As I watched her meteoric rise to fame, people would say how great she was and all I could think was she must be an incredible actor because she was one of the most vile people I’ve ever met in my life.”

Even if Ellen was talented enough to make it big, there’s no way that she could have been awful to everyone she faced when she was young & aspiring. There’s no question that Ellen had to pretend to be nice in order to get where she is today.

That’s why – for the most part – stories that condemn Ellen DeGeneres come from the time after she attained A-list celebrity status. With more power comes more opportunity to lash out because you’ll have enough people backing you that it doesn’t even matter.

The kid-shaming continues

While some celebrities have backed Ellen, others have finally shown their frustration with her. Ashton Kutcher, for example, claims that Ellen bullied his two-year-old son. Kutcher along with his wife Mila Kunis and their two kids are Ellen’s neighbors. As one might guess, Kutcher hasn’t had the best time with Ellen as his neighbor.

When Kutcher came on The Ellen Show, DeGeneres – as usual – made uncomfortable jabs at him. This time she targeted Kutcher’s son saying, “The young boy who never walks is how old?” Recoiling to her judgement Kutcher affirmed, “He walks! He’s two!”

In order to keep the joke going, Ellen turned to the audience saying, “He never puts him down.” Ellen continued to imply that the kid can’t walk insisting, “He’s always on his back!”I’ve seen him five times. I’ve never seen him walk!”

Combatting Ellen’s persistent tirade, Kuther explained to her, “I now have a complex about this, because I have one of those hiking backpack things, so I put him in the hiker to go down to the beach so we can actually go down the beach, otherwise it’s a whole wrangling session with the kid. And then you came out and you were like, ‘Oh, does he walk?’ And I’m like, ‘Yes! He walks!’”

  • What Ellen DeGeneres thinks is funny, is mean and hurts people. I will never watch her talk show or Games shows again. Ellen is done!
Pull all of her shows. We don’t want to see or hear from her again.

  • I’ve never met Ellen but any time I happened to catch a bit of her show it made me feel uncomfortable. It was like I could sense her own discomfort. Now I understand why.

  • I use to watch her show but I stopped because Ellen’s behavior with some of her guest made me uncomfortable. She has been visibly mean for a very long time. It’s crazy to me that people are just seeing it now.

  • There’s just got to be something wrong with a grown Woman who makes fun of a Child! It reminds me of my disappointment when I got made fun of in College. I’d thought people in College would have outgrown that by then!

  • Absolutely NO ONE and I mean NO ONE is who they pretend to be. From the rich and famous to the homeless on the street, there is a mask that each one hides behind. People who would deny this fact are only proving it to be true. So Ellen G. is a fake, that’s why people watch her!!!!

  • Years ago Sofia Vergara was a guest and Ellen pressured Sofia to place a phone call to the president of Columbia! Sofia was so uncomfortable, I felt really uncomfortable myself for her. I thought about Ellen “what a jerk”. It’s unfortunate because she can be very funny but funny doesn’t mean kind. She seems to get a perverse kick out of seeing people uncomfortable. Another time Vergara was on there was something about putting makeup on, I can’t remember the details but Vergara wound up looking ridiculous with makeup making her look like a clown. Of course Ellen thought it was hysterical.

  • I used to love Ellen! Her very first show was the best. Her talk show I only watch sometimes. I try to support her because I’m gay and it was a huge momments when she came out. When she started doing those games I started seeing another side to her. She gets this wierd scary look when she smashes things in people’s face. I haven’t watched anything since. I think she changed when her mom stopped coming to the show

  • I do not like Ellen cause she’s a snob and a b**** and like hurting people’s feelings and doesn’t seem to care who she hurts. She thinks it is a game she is nothing but a bully

  • You can tell Ellen is mean. Even on her show she would mock other celebrities as Sophia Vergara or a Kardashian by wearing a ridiculous costume of them..
Ellen isnt funny. She’s just rude and disrespectful. Glad there is finally light on this matter

  • I used to be an avid Ellen fan until about 10 years ago when I started (regularly) seeing comments from other “celebrities” about her bullying treatment of them. That’s when I just quit being a fan. She gives (us) gays a bad name. Maybe it’s time for her “boss” Time Warner to tell her it’s time to retire and let someone else give it a shot. (So sad to read so many employees also got the bullying treatment). It’s bad enough we have a president that acts like that… Now Hollywood too? Don’t forget to vote November 3rd!

  • All anyone had to do is watch Ellen’s current game show to see how much she enjoys putting people in uncomfortable and embarrassing situations to see who she really is. Just look at how much pleasure she gets dumping people into slime from a good height through a trap door for not knowing the answer to a question. Yeah, the gig is up for Ms Meaniepants.

  • Yes. Everyone who works in US TV is mean. LA is mean. These people are lifelong bullies and very good at pretending to be ‘nice’.

  • I think most people in power, from 1st level up, are bullies at some time. Its human nature. It takes an exceptional nature not to be and I see very few fine humans in Hollywood. Most are not great actors, not multi-talented, and not pretty without plastic surgery and heavy makeup. Ellen is no different, no worse. I say leave her alone unless you have been personally insulted.

  • Ellen has stated that she was raised as a Christian Scientist and hinted that there wasn’t much fun in her life when she was young. Like Michael Jackson who also missed a normal, happy childhood, I wonder if that had a lifelong effect on her. I have always been uncomfortable with the delight she takes in causing members of her audience to be doused in various gloppy or powdery materials. It really seems childish for someone her age especially. I have also been uncomfortable with all the sexual innuendos – she has an afternoon program so young kids who tune in to her show are exposed to that. She likes to make males take off their shirts to show their bodies – if there was a male host of an afternoon show who asked women to take off their shirts – even if their bras remained on, there would be a huge outcry about dirty old men exploiting women – and justifiably so. (There certainly has been enough of that over the decades!) In this case though, Ellen is the dirty old woman. Her fans worship her but, aside from never subjecting HERSELF to an occasional pie in the face, she usually gives various corporations’ moneys away – not her own. I think that Ellen’s time has come and gone. Times have changed.

  • I am in no way defending Ellen but she is a comedian and they tend to try get a joke across by whatever means necessary.
If celebrities don’t like that, call her out on it. Ellen obviously hates kids so there is no excuse for the body shaming of the boy.
She needs to be taken down a peg or two. Just because she has been helpful to a lot of people, doesn’t give her the right to treat some people badly.
If an evangelical preacher brings people closer to God, he doesn’t get a pass to sleep with underage girls.
No good deed can out weigh a bad one.
    IMHO

  • I have always found Ellen to be a bully. I’ve only watched her show a handful of tim-es and every time she used “humor” to insult her guests, employees and audience members.

It’s about time she got called out.
