Need more Miley Cyrus in your life? We’re ranking her best movies

Miley Cyrus has become a beloved pop icon ever since her Disney Channel days as Hannah Montana in the TV show Hannah Montana. We got the best of both worlds, seeing Miley act alongside her father and legend Billy Ray Cyrus while also singing her heart out and dealing with the most unrelatable-relatable teenage angst.

Since her acting debut, Miley Cyrus has been involved in a few movie productions over the years including concert movies. Need a bit more “Midnight Sky” Miley Cyrus in your life? Here are the singer’s movies ranked from worst to best (according to Rotten Tomatoes).

So Undercover (2012)

With a Rotten Tomatoes score of 6%, it’s not exactly rocket science figuring out why it scored so low. While So Undercover wasn’t a Miley masterpiece, it can provide some cheesy teenage drama when you’ve watched literally every movie to exist. A tough, street-smart private eye is hired by the FBI to go undercover in a college sorority.

Yes, Miley Cyrus is the private eye and is named Molly as she dives into the not-so-wonderful world of college sororities. The acting is plain at best. Even Miley seems like she wants to escape.

LOL (2012)

17%. LOL received 17% for its Rotten Tomatoes score. If we’re being honest, it’s a rather high number for this messy movie. Miley Cyrus movies tend to be aimed at teenagers, but even teens have taste.

As a new year at school begins, Lola’s heart is broken by her boyfriend, though soon she’s surprised by her best friend, promising musician Kyle, who reveals his feelings for her. Lola or LOL (. . . yeah, we’re not kidding) struggles with romance, drama, and the fact her mother is actress Demi Moore. Okay, so Demi Moore doesn’t act as herself, but come on . . . it’s freaking Demi Moore!

LOL is a cringefest in every sense of the word, but if you’re after cringe then you’ve come to the right place.

The Last Song (2010)

You may disagree, but The Last Song should’ve got higher than 21%. Blasting “When I Look At You” as you sing dreaming of a young Liam Hemsworth is a beloved childhood memory for many. Based on the Nicholas Sparks book, A rebellious girl is sent to a Southern beach town for the summer to stay with her father. Through their mutual love of music, the estranged duo learns to reconnect.

Seeing Miley Cyrus & Liam Hemsworth meet and connect with those fireworks on screen knowing what’s to come? Oh, it’s enough to get us rewatching during these endless lockdowns. It’s stereotypical, but in the best and most cheesy way.

Hannah Montana: The Movie (2009)

Of course, the ultimate Miley Cyrus movie made it to this list. Hannah Montana: The Movie scored 43% on Rotten Tomatoes and we kinda agree? Okay, don’t send the army all at once. The soundtrack is great, the acting is meh, but overall we walk away with a smile.

As Hannah Montana’s popularity begins to take over her life, Miley Stewart, on urging from her father, takes a trip to her hometown of Crowley Corners, Tennessee to get some perspective on what matters in life the most. Yes, Billy Ray Cyrus sings and yes we love every minute.

Black Mirror “Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too”

Okay, so this isn’t a movie, but the way Black Mirror is . . . it counts. It scored a respectable 50% and rightfully so. It’s not our favorite Black Mirror episode, but seeing Miley Cyrus transition from pop princess to punk diva (see what they did there) is truly mesmerizing.

A lonely teenager yearns to connect with her favorite pop star – whose charmed existence isn’t quite as rosy as it appears. Also, it features a strange robot so it’s the whole package really.

Justin Bieber: Never Say Never (2011)

That’s right, Miley Cyrus’s cameo in Justin Bieber’s concert movie has made the list! This documentary follows Justin Bieber with some footage of performances from his 2010 concert tour. Young Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber on stage together are iconic which is probably why Rotten Tomatoes gave the score of 65%. Bunch of Beliebers . . .

A Very Murray Christmas (2015)

A Christmas movie is very appropriate for this time of year. Bill Murray worries no one will show up to his TV show due to a terrible snowstorm in New York City. Luckily for him, he’s greeted by Miley Cyrus and a ton of famous celeb guests. Rotten Tomatoes isn’t a Scrooge and gave Bill Murray and co. a decent score of 68%.

The Night Before (2015)

A score of 68% for seeing Joseph Gordon-Levitt singing alongside pop icon Miley Cyrus is iconic. On Christmas Eve, three lifelong friends spend the night in New York City looking for the Holy Grail of Christmas parties. Christmas movies and Miley Cyrus? We vote yes!

Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert (2008)

You got the limo out front! Another concert movie equals more Miley Cyrus content that can potentially save 2020. Rotten Tomatoes are potentially Hannah Montana stans as they scored this movie 71%. Is it seeing Miley transform into Hannah Montana and back? Or is it the questionable fashion choices involving millions of sequins? Also, we get to see The Jonas Brothers!

Bad Reputation (2008)

Following rock star Joan Jett in this 2008 documentary, Rotten Tomatoes gave an impressive score of 79%. From the formation of the Runaways, her partnership with songwriter and producer Kenny Laguna, to the creation of the band Joan Jett & the Blackhearts and her record label Blackheart Records. Miley Cyrus makes an appearance as it makes our list of Miley movies.

Bolt (2008)

This fun Disney animation classic deserves our top spot for best Miley Cyrus movies. Cyrus voices young dog-owner & actress Penny as she tries to find her lost dog Bolt (John Travolta). However, Bolt believes that the films he acts in are real life! It’s the perfect movie to watch with the whole family and scored 89%.
