Why did Rami Malek interrogate Kate Middleton and Prince William?
We’re finally getting the chance to see the latest James Bond flick, No Time To Die, starring Daniel Craig in his final outing as the suit-wearing British spy. The film also notably features actor Rami Malek as the villain, an actor who has made an impressive run since his time on the hit series Mr. Robot as well as his Oscar win for his work on Bohemian Rhapsody, portraying the late Queen frontman Freddie Mercury.
That being said, it appears that Rami Malek is even more famous than we thought, having noted that he actually shares a relationship with both Kate Middleton & Prince William during his Tuesday night appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live promoting his new film. Malek told Kimmel how he talked with Middleton at the London premiere of No Time To Die, which was held at the same location where he met her two years ago.
At the 2019 BAFTAs at the Royal Albert Hall, where the London premie of No Time To Die was held, Rami Malek apparently approached Kate Middleton and disclosed how impressed he was with both the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, finding it incredible that they’re able to learn so much about the people they have to meet. But what’s the full story here? Let’s hear all of the details and see what we can find.
Royal Rami
During Rami Malek’s promotional tour of the upcoming James Bond flick, he unveiled to Jimmy Kimmel how he had actually met both Prince William & Kate Middleton in the past. He explained how “fascinating” it was to learn that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge learn information about everyone they speak to.
“You can see they’ve done their homework,” he said. “I just looked at Princess Kate at one point and I said, ‘This must be exhausting.’ She [said], ‘Why?’ I said, ‘You just had a baby, right?’”
The actor was referring to Kate Middleton & Prince William welcoming their third child, Prince Louis, in 2018. Malek recalled Middleton’s reaction to the acknowledgment of royal duties, saying, “I think she was just taken aback.” He continued, “She said, ‘How are you doing?’ And I said, ‘No, how are you?’ In the most regal, elegant way she’s like, ‘Well,’ you know, gave me a look.”
He added, “It was so cool because I think I caught her off guard for a second.” Malek joked with her and said, “‘You know, if you ever need a day off, some time off, I’m backup for you.’ She’s like, ‘What do you mean?’ I go, ‘I can babysit. You guys go out. Have a good time.'”
“I think after seeing the movie, they’re not going to want you to babysit at all,” Kimmel quipped, in reference to Malek’s diabolical villain in the film to which Malek laughed and immediately agreed to the claim.
Rami Malek breakdown
Forty-year-old Rami Malek first got his big Hollywood break when he appeared as Pharaoh Ahkmenrah in Night at the Museum, a 2006 film turned trilogy that starred Ben Stiller as a security guard tasked with protecting a local museum that comes to life at night. As well, Malek was also given supporting roles in small films such as Tom Hanks’ Larry Crowne, The Twilight Saga, and The Master, starring Joaquin Phoenix.
However, it was clearly Bohemian Rhapsody that shot this young actor to superstardom, landing him roles in the ensemble film The Little Things alongside Denzel Washington and Jared Leto, as well as launching him to the Hollywood pedestal where he would earn the villainous role in James Bond: No Time to Die. We so can’t wait for this movie, guys. How excited are you?
