Another Christmas with filmmaker Stacie Davis
Starring Ryan Toby, Malik Bazile, and Sheena Faust, and now streaming on The Roku Channel, Another Christmas is a holiday romance about family and second chances. It is the perfect film to help everyone get into the holiday spirit, and we were lucky enough to be able to sit down with director/writer Stacie Davis to talk about her newest film.
Could you please tell us a bit about your new film “Another Christmas”?
Kelly Brooks is an elementary school teacher who gave up on love during the holiday season until her childhood friend Andrew a professional baseball player returns home to win Kelly’s heart for Christmas
What was the making of the film like? Did you shoot it during the Christmas season?
We had an amazing time creating Another Christmas with the cast and crew. We spent 7 days in Myrtle Beach while making the film. A lot of the scenes you’ll see were in various areas such as Market Common, Bridgewater Academy and the Myrtle Beach Pelicans stadium. Unfortunately, Another Christmas was shot 3 months after Christmas.
“Another Christmas” is the second Christmas film you have made, the first being “Christmas in Carolina” in 2020. What draws you towards making festive films?
I enjoy the holiday season by spending time with my family and friends. So whenever I can create a project like this brings happiness, peace and joy while writing, producing and directing.
What is Christmas in your household like?
Christmas in my household is like a lot like you’ll see in Another Christmas. We listen to music, play games, watch movies, laugh, eat seafood and enjoy each other’s company.
How did you get into filmmaking?
I was a broadcast journalist major at Claflin University, so I began in the news field before transitioning into filmmaking.
What is coming up next for you?
I currently have a new original series Hanging with the Taylor’s on Impact Network which airs every Saturday at 3:30pm. With a new wife comes a new life… and changes! Join Ryan Taylor, his new beautiful wife Rachel with new daughter Laia, an overprotective sister Lois, hilarious best friend Josh and his mischievous (but well meaning) sons Tron and Shawn as they all get adjusted to this new blended family life!
What advice would you give to someone looking to get into filmmaking?
Don’t give up! It will happen for you as long as you keep trying. Oh to always use your resources and network.
