Mani Ratnam is an Indian filmmaker and screenwriter working in Tamil cinema. His films are celebrated for their realism and technical finesse; furthermore he is often credited with expanding and diversifying Tamil cinema’s repertoire and depth. Mani has won various accolades over his career – six National Film Awards and three Filmfare Awards South being among them.

According to sources, Nandan has no interest in entering the film industry and prefers reading Marxian ideologies instead. Additionally, he consults with senior CPI-M leaders regarding various matters.

Nandan Ratnam, known for his groundbreaking Indian films such as Aamir, and successful actress Suhasini Charu Hassan is his father and great-grandson of both actors Charu Hassan and Komalam respectively.
He recently directed and acted in Chekka Chevantha Vaanam and is set to direct Karthi in his next project based on the 1999 Kargil war that is estimated to cost over 500 crores.
His wife, Suhasini shared an adorable photo of their son on Twitter. She appealed for people to assist their son while also reminding people not to call or visit him as she didn’t wish for his peace and calmness to be disturbed.
