Why is Mariah Carey obsessed with Christmas?
Halloween was lots of fun this year, but we’re back to our regular scheduled programming, and as we all may already know, as soon as the clock strikes midnight to welcome in the month of November, it’s time to tear down the spooky decorations and hang up our Christmas lights. We might as well start making our wish lists now – and are you truly doing it right if you don’t have your Christmas trees up by Thanksgiving?
It’s safe to say that with the exception of a few Grinches here and there, most of the world are huge fans of the Holiday season. However, some are sincerely more jolly & festive than others, and it shows. Exhibit A is the lovely singer and queen of Christmas herself, Mariah Carey, who has made it clear throughout her career that she’s utterly “Obsessed” with Christmas. So what does the star have up her sleeves for Xmas 2021?
Mariah Carey has graced us with pop classics like “Obsessed” and “Always Be My Baby”, but she’s also given us some cheery bops that have become staple hits for the Holidays such as “All I Want For Christmas Is You”. As the later months roll around each year, fans can always count on her to spread the Christmas cheer with musical surprises, and this Holiday season is no different. Let’s take a look at what she has in store for us here.

What’s coming this year for Mariah Carey?
This year, the pop queen of Christmas is back and better than ever. “Obsessed” singer Mariah Carey announced on Tuesday that she’s committed to her reign as the Holiday’s queen by sharing news of an upcoming special she’s filmed with Apple TV+ titled Mariah’s Christmas: The Magic Continues. The star shared a teaser pic on her Instagram account that featured a clapperboard that read: “More Magic: MC x K x KF”.
The fifty-two-year-old pop star then captioned the cute post with: “The Magic Continues… @appletvplus”. If the return of the iconic duo that is Mariah Carey and Christmas wasn’t already exciting enough, it has also been confirmed that the Xmas special will also feature the debut performance of the pop star’s latest Holiday collaboration with singers Khalid & Kirk Franklin. We absolutely can not wait to see it!
The song Mariah Carey did with Khalid & Kirk Franklin is titled “Fall in Love at Christmas”, and will be released on Friday. From the title alone, we are already bursting with excitement at the fact that the “All I Want For Christmas Is You” singer is about to gift us with another festive love song. This will be the perfect hit for all the lovebirds out there who will be celebrating Christmas this year with a special someone. . . Wink, wink.

Thank the Xmas Angels for Miss Mariah!
Last year, Mariah Carey already proved just how “Obsessed” she was for the Holiday season when she released Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special that featured Ariana Grande & Jennifer Hudson as the three iconic pop girlies performed a rendition of the classic hit “Oh Santa!”. It seemed like just yesterday when we got to see the talented women in the jolly music video singing while surrounded by dancing elves.
The festive special also had a performance with Jermaine Dupri & Snoop Dogg who dressed up as the one and only Santa Claus as they performed a new version of the track “Sleigh Ride”. Considering all the past amazing performances we got, we can only expect to see some more iconic music videos with Mariah’s Christmas: The Magic Continues that is set to be released next month in December.
On Halloween night, Mariah Carey officially brought in the Holiday Cheer by sharing a video to her social media accounts of her smashing jack-o’-lanterns that read “It’s not time” with a baseball bat as she dressed in red from head to toe. In the clip, her iconic ballad “All I Want for Christmas Is You” played in the background. If we weren’t already excited for the Holidays, we surely are now!
