Who is Adele’s new boyfriend? Is it Tom Hanks’s son Chet?
Superstar songstress Adele has a new look and maybe a new boyfriend. In her first Instagram of 2020 in May, we noticed that Adele was looking a little trimmer than we saw her last. The change may be partly because of her new single status since her weight loss journey began shortly after she split with her husband Simon Konecki.
Now, Adele is getting some attention from a couple of celebrity suitors via Instagram. Adele celebrated her 32nd birthday at the beginning of the year and is focused on releasing an upcoming album and taking care of her son Angelo.
Adele’s transformation has meant changing her outlook on life and not just her body. It could be Adele’s not in the market for a new boyfriend at the moment. We find it highly unlikely that Tom Hanks’s son Chet would be her first pick. But then, as we all know, stranger things have happened in 2020.
Past relationship
Adele’s ex-husband, Simon Konecki began his career as a director of EBS, a division of the trading company Icap. He then began managing teams of senior brokers at Lehman Brothers before he left to pursue a career focused on making the world a better place.
A business venture with his friend Lucas White concerning an eco-friendly bottled water brand led the two to create the charity Drop4Drop, which campaigns to provide clean water to poor countries. Simon Konecki is the CEO of Drop4Drop.
Adele & Simon Konecki were only married for two years before they split in April 2019, but they began their relationship in 2011. In 2012, the couple welcomed their son Angelo. Konecki & Adele kept their divorce as private as possible and a spokesman for Adele commented the couple was “committed to raising their son together lovingly”.
Old friend or new romance?
After her split from Konecki, Adele remained focused on herself, her music, and her son. It wasn’t until June 2020 that fans began to suspect Adele might have a new boyfriend. The reason for this theory was down to the flirty Instagram comments exchanged by the singer & British rapper Skepta.
When Adele posted two pictures of herself on Instagram singing along to her performance at the 2016 Glastonbury Music Festival, Skepta commented, “Finally got your Instagram password lol”. Adele then responded to the comment with a winky face & a red heart emoji.
Fans who spotted this cheeky interaction were thrilled at the possibility of the two musicians being a couple. Neither celebrity has commented on the potential romance but it’s well-known that Adele & Skepta have been close friends for years. Skepta mentioned their relationship in 2016, saying, “Adele texts me all the time and keeps me in check. She speaks to me about how things are going.”
A chance social media encounter
A shocking turn of events recently saw the son of legendary actors Tom Hanks & Rita Wilson, Chet Hanks, looking to slide into Adele’s DMs. It all started when Adele posted a picture of herself dressed in a Jamaican flag bikini top with her hair done up in Bantu knots to celebrate London’s Notting Hill Carnival.
The photo sparked controversy for cultural appropriation as well as a slew of jokes. Chet had a much different response. He posted an Instagram video of himself jamming to Adele’s “Set Fire to the Rain” and speaking to the camera in Jamaican Patois.
His caption on the post read, “PLEASE SOMEONE TELL ADELE HIT MY LINE ASAP !!!!!!!!!!!! I NEED TO TALK TO HER ABOUT SOMETHING 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲”.
Chet exuberantly praised Adele’s Carnival costume post on Instagram and in his clumsy accent asked the singer to hit up his DMs. It was a moment of pure cringe though maybe not as bad as the other videos of Chet speaking Patois. Yes, there’s more than one.

Adele & boyfriend may not be two words we can put together this year as she’s kept her focus on improving her health so she can be the best mom to her son. Adele hinted that the coronavirus quarantine was one of the reasons her next album has been pushed back and it might be that a new relationship isn’t on the cards for Adele in 2020.
