OMG: Has Sam Asghari just confirmed a Britney Spears tour?

With Jamie Spears stepping down as conservator of Britney Spears, we were hoping that things in the life of the troubled pop star would chill out for a little bit. Alas, it looks like new rumors abound about her life. Namely, we’re talking about rumors centered on her career. It sounded like, during the conservatorship battle, that Britney Spears was preparing to retire from pop music. 

Now, however, Sam Asghari, Spears’ longtime boyfriend, is hinting that we may see Britney back on stage at some point. Currently, his girlfriend is working on extricating herself from the 13-year-long conservatorship that has loomed over her personal & professional life like some kind of horror show. But who knows what will be next for Britney?

What did Sam Asghari say?

In a video obtained by TMZ, a pap asked Asghari if fans of Britney Spears can expect to see the singer back on stage soon. He said, “Absolutely.” Then there was a pause in the video followed by a mumbled “Hopefully.” So that’s all we know on that front. We have a lukewarm response for Spears’ long-term boyfriend over whether or not she’ll be performing again in the near future. 

Spears has been on an indefinite performance hiatus while she fights against the conservatorship under her father in court. Britney Spears alleges that she was forced to perform in tours & Vegas shows by her father, who made her go on no matter how sick she was. Spears said that she performed with a fever over 100 degrees at one point, which is not great. 

As for whether Asghari’s comments should be taken seriously? Well, Britney Spears’ longtime manager retired because she expressed that Spears wanted to not tour or be involved in the music world after ending her conservatorship. So whatever decision she makes, it needs to be respected. But, based on Sam Asghari’s comments, it looks like Britney doesn’t know what she wants right now.

And the conservatorship?

Last week on August 12th, Jamie Spears, Britney’s father, announced his intention to step down as conservator of his daughter. According to a court filing that was released by various outlets on the day. It said, “So even though he must contest this unjustified petition for his removal, Mr. Spears intends to work with the Court and his daughter’s new attorney to prepare for an orderly transition to a new conservator.”

Spears’ lawyer in the matter, Matthew Rosengart said of the move, “We look forward to continuing our vigorous investigation into the conduct of Mr. Spears, and others, over the past 13 years, while he reaped millions of dollars from his daughter’s estate, and I look forward to taking Mr. Spears’s sworn deposition in the near future.” So the conservatorship looks to be ending at some point.

Though that’s not the only thing that’s going on Britney’s life at the moment. She’s also under investigation for allegedly striking a housekeeper. Yes. Really. It looks like things are heating up if you’re curious about the troubled life & times of Britney Spears. Currently, the investigation is ongoing, so we’ll have to see where that will go with time, you know?
