Stylish and smart: The best luxury and eco-friendly cars for you

Looking for a luxury car that’s good for the environment? Look no further than our list of favorite luxury e-cars for 2021!

Electric cars have transformed the automobile industry. In 2018, the global electric car fleet surpassed 5.1 million, representing an increase of two million cars when compared to the previous year. These are no ordinary cars but luxury cars with power wheels that give customers nothing but the best riding experiences. With more of these cars on the road everyday, what’s the best luxury e-car for you?

Cadillac Celestiq

Cadillac began introducing its electric portfolio in August 2020 with the debut of the Lyriq EV show car. Now the carmaker is teasing its electric sedan, the Cadillac Celestiq. According to Autoblog.com Celestiq will share best features with the Lyriq crossover EV, like boomerang taillights and the fastback roof – a glass unit separated into four pieces. The front resembles the Lyriq with a geometric grille covered in a transparent panel.

The luxury interior features a full-width screen for instruments & infotainment and a screen in the center console/stack that controls functions like the roof panel illumination. According to Autoblog Green editor John Beltz Snyder, the car interior also has extensive wood & metal trim with nifty ambient lighting. It’s not expected to roll out to the public until 2023 but it may carry a price tag larger than $200,000.

Now for those who want the best luxury e-car experience without that hefty price tag, there are a number of other eco-friendly luxury choices available.

Audi e-Tron

Renowned for their R&D in the world of electric vehicles the Audi e-Tron is the best luxury car choice for families. This five-seater sustainable luxury car uses innovative side cameras, not glass mirrors, and you can cover a long range of 248 miles. Even though there are no sophisticated systems in this car, what is important is that the e-Tron is quite noiseless, and it can clock top speeds up to 124 mph.

When connected to a standard charger, it takes about 8.5 hours for the e-Tron to be ready to hit the road with 80% battery power. The good news is that when the next generation of superchargers is rolled out, charging time can be lowered to 30 minutes. Prices start at $65,900.

Mercedes-Benz S-Class 560e

The S-Class 560e is an eco-friendly exotic car and a successor to the Mercedes-Benz S500e. An electric motor powers the vehicle’s 23.5kWh-battery, affording it the ability to achieve accelerations up to 100km/hr within five seconds; a breakneck speed. The good news is that this eco-friendly vehicle is priced affordably. You can get one for yourself if you are ready to spend about $109,750.

BMW 5-Series

Exhilarating power, a serene ride, a top-notch safety score, and a cavernous cabin are just some of the traits that propel the 2021 BMW 5 Series toward being the best of the luxury midsize car class.

All the cars in this series have an array of monstrous engines, a great ride, plenty of cabin room, and a top-notch safety score. New for the 2021 model is a 12.3-inch touch screen and Android Auto is now standard. The 540i gets mild-hybrid technology & they all have refreshed interior and exterior styling. Prices run $54,200 – $103,500.

2021 Lexus ES

Starting at $40,000, the 2021 Lexus ES ranks near the top of the best luxury midsize car class thanks to its composed ride and handling, comfortable and spacious interior, many standard features, and good predicted reliability rating. It also boasts a smooth ride, with a spacious, comfy, and quiet interior. The 2021 Lexus ES has many standard safety features, a good predicted reliability rating, and new for 2021, all-wheel drive.

Range Rover PHEV

The PHEV Range Rover is designed to guarantee the best e-friendliness while offering the touch of luxury. With a fuel economy of 44.7 miles to the gallon, the car is efficient and fast as a bullet. Within the span of just six seconds, the PHEV can reach speeds of 60 mph.

Smart technological features in this sustainable vehicle include cabin preconditioning and intelligent routing. Invest about $89,000, and you can acquire a brand new PHEV Range Rover to taste luxury while contributing to the health of the planet in your own small way.

Tesla Model 3

The 2021 Tesla Model 3 is among the best more affordable options in the luxury electric-vehicle marketplace starting at $37,990. The car borrows some styling cues from the company’s Model S sedan & Model X SUV, but goes its own way with a unique interior design and an all-glass roof. Acceleration is quick with a responsive chassis, – the Performance model has a sportier suspension and a track driving mode.

But EV buyers are more likely interested in driving range than speediness or handling, and the Model 3 delivers there too. The base model offers up to 263 miles of driving range according to the EPA, and the more expensive Long Range model can go up to 353 per charge. Some 2021 enhancements include a center console redesign with two wireless smartphone charging pads, and magnetic sun visors.

The base Standard Range Plus model now claims a driving range of 263 miles per charge, up from 250, while the Long Range model boasts a 353-mile range, 31 miles more than the 2020 model delivered. The Model 3 offers several different options for charging: Tesla’s network of fast-charging stations called Superchargers, adapters for DC public-charging stations, 240- and 120-volt outlets, and a home-charging station.
