Bobby Brown Jr. tragically passes away: Behind his short-lived career
In a shocking & heartbreaking new report, Bobby Brown Jr., the son of R&B superstar Bobby Brown and his former girlfriend Kim Ward, was found dead at the age of twenty-eight. Brown was only thirteen when he appeared on the 2005 Bravo reality show, Being Bobby Brown.
This is far from the first time tragedy has hit the Brown family. Just five years ago, Bobby Brown’s twenty-two-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, was found face down & unconscious in a bathtub in her Georgia home. After dying in hospice care, she was buried next to her mother, the one & only illustrious Whitney Houston, who died a few years earlier in a Beverly Hills hotel bathtub.
Touching tributes
Bobby Brown deeply mourned the loss of his daughter, posting a tribute to her on Instagram just a couple months ago on the five-year anniversary of her death. “There’s no way to explain how I feel I miss you so much little girl,” he wrote. “You stay in my heart on my mind every day daddy loves you.”
Like his dad, Brown Jr. was heartbroken upon hearing the news that his half-sister Bobbi Kristina had died. “People really don’t give a f**k about you unless your relevant, and they don’t love you till your famous or gone,” he said on Twitter. “I don’t want these follows.”
He later posted: “This is real life for me, this is my life, my sister. Not a f**king trending topic.”
Honoring Bobbi’s memory
In 2018, Bobby Brown also announced plans to construct a domestic violence shelter: “the Bobbi Kristina Serenity House,” in honor of his daughter. Brown suspected Nick Gordon, Bobbi’s boyfriend, was responsible for her death. Gordon was found liable for her death before he died in January 2020.
Although he was never criminally charged for her death, Gordon was found responsible in a wrongful death lawsuit. The Washington Post reported he was ordered to pay “millions of dollars” to Bobbi Kristina Brown’s estate.
In a released statement obtained by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Bobby Brown elaborated on his family’s grief and their reasons for building the shelter: “Our family lives with the pain every day of losing my beautiful daughter, Bobbi Kristina, to domestic violence.”
“She loved Atlanta and in her memory we are proud to announce the formation of the Bobbi Kristina Serenity House. Our initial goal is to help educate women and men of all ages, by creating a 24-hour crisis intervention line and emergency transitional shelter.”
Another tragic loss
Needless to say, Bobby Brown’s life has run rampant with heartbreak. Details of Brown Jr.’s death are still unclear. TMZ reported police responded to a call at 1:50 p.m. on November 17th, sadly, only to find his lifeless body in his Los Angeles home, just over a week away from his twenty-ninth birthday.
There are no further details in regards to the cause of death. However, LAPD public information officer Jeff Lee claims there’s no suspected foul play.
The first member of the family to confirm Brown Jr.’s death was his older half-brother, Landon, who posted a photo of Brown Jr. “I love you forever King,” read the caption.
Bobby Brown Jr.’s life & legacy
Bobby Brown Jr. was the product of his dad’s longtime romance with girlfriend Kim Ward. Brown met Ward before starting his romance with Whitney Houston, and the two had two children together: Bobby Jr. and his younger sister, LaPrincia.
In addition to LaPrincia, Landon, and the late Bobbi, Brown Jr. had three other siblings: Cassius Brown, Bodhi Jameson Rein Brown, and Hendrix Estelle Sheba Brown. Brown Jr. also leaves behind a girlfriend, Anna Reed. Early this morning, she tweeted: “The heavens gained an angel but I lost my soul mate.”
We can only imagine how shocking of a loss this must have been for her, and for the entire Brown family. Our hearts go out to them.
