Why is Kate Middleton missing? Could she divorce Prince William soon?

There is an ever-growing mystery surrounding the whereabouts of The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, who has seemingly been MIA for nearly two months now. Of course, while the royal media will always be tethered to the likes of Prince Harry & Megan Markle, who themselves have seemed to mellow down in terms of the constant media storm, it appears that it’s Kate’s turn to flood the headlines. Where is she? 

It has been fifty-eight days since Kate Middleton has been seen in a public setting or even appeared in a photograph. In fact, the last time the Duchess of Cambridge made a public appearance was back on July 11th, 2021, where she made a surprise appearance at the Wimbledon men’s singles final. This, of course, beats her 2020 record of forty-one days without a public appearance, and that was in the middle of a global pandemic!  

Today, given her mysterious lack of public appearances, especially in the vaccine era where royalty should be addressing the public and inspiring them to get healthy, Kate Middleton seems to be hiding in the shadows for whatever reason. When you consider this, plus Kate missing her husband Prince William’s statue unveiling of his mother earlier this summer, is it possible that the two might be considering breaking up soon? 

Kate unable to attend

It was announced only weeks prior that Kate Middleton would be unable to attend the Princess Diana statue launch last July, both to honor and commemorate what would have been her 60th anniversary had it not been for her tragic passing in late 1997. It was expected that Middleton would show up to serve as a broker between husband Prince William and his younger brother Harry, who’ve had a notable rift this past year. 

While many are assuming that Middleton is skipping Princess Diana’s memorial launch this Thursday due to COVID protocols, one source told Page Six how her skipping the event will be “telling on so many levels”, as well as how “Catherine’s absence speaks volumes”. 

The source continued: “I think keeping the numbers down is a perfect ‘excuse’ for Catherine to stay away. William is fed up with the drama and Catherine doesn’t need to be dragged into this. They are planning a private family visit with their children, and that private moment is far more important than the public rhetoric.” 

The palace confirmed that William & Harry would be joined only by Diana’s close family, the statue committee, the sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley and garden designer Pip Morrison — as Camilla Tominey of the UK Telegraph also said there were concerns inside the palace that Harry would be “outflanked” if Kate Middleton & Prince William both appeared. But what does this mean for the royal couple today?

Possible leads? 

In early August, it was reported that William, Kate, and their three kids were enjoying a getaway on an island in the Cornish archipelago, the Isles of Scilly. Later the same month, reports emerged that the Cambridge family had made their annual pilgrimage north for a Scottish getaway. Apparently, the summer is considered a bit of a low time if you’re royalty. 

“They always enjoy going up to Balmoral, they love the outdoors and walking in the hills and spending quality time with family,” a source told Vanity Fair’s royal editor Katie Nicholl. “It’s where William spent a lot of his childhood and it’s important to him that his children experience what he did as a young boy.” However, with some royal events coming up on the calendar, expect Kate Middleton to come out of hiding very soon.

We think it’s fair to assume that, while absent at the moment, both Kate Middleton & Prince William are moving on as strong as ever.
