She has also expressed in the past that she no longer is planning to ever be a part of that industry ever again, and she has since moved forward to new feats in her career and life. However, a recent TikTok that dropped her name has since brought back past memories she’s not too fond of.
Lately, a TikTok trend has been going around, set to the lyrics of the song “Cigarette Daydreams” by the indie rock band Cage the Elephant. As the band sings “Cigarette daydreams, you were only seventeen”, folks have been using the song as a background while sharing devastating stories and experiences of a time in their lives when they were either sexualized at a young age or forced to grow up quicker then they should have.
One TikTok user named @oreo_mlkshake shared their own story and hopped on to the trend, and brought in the name of former XXX star Mia Khalifa. In the user’s video, captions in the clip read: “Me: ‘No I can’t wear my glasses because the HS boys keep saying I look like Mia K with them, and it makes me uncomfortable”. The TikTok post has since garnered over eleven million views and over one million likes.

The video got so big that Mia Khalifa herself saw it, and the former XXX star responded to the TikTok in an emotional manner. Mia Khalifa dueted the video and shared a clip of her reacting tearfully to the original clip. In a heartbreaking response, the influencer captioned her duet post with: “I’m so sorry. I don’t wear them anymore for this reason”. Her post so far has received over forty-six million views and over nine million likes.
Mia Khalifa’s post was met with tons of support from adoring fans, who consolidated her and assured her that this was far from her fault. One person wrote: “”i wish i could give you a hug, it’s not your fault at all”. The poster of the original TikTok @orea_mlkshake even commented and said: “No you don’t understand, This wasn’t ever your fault. You’re an inspiring woman. We all love you Mia”.
One person added that Mia Khalifa should not be taking the blame at all for this situation, commenting: “Wait am I confused? Isn’t this MEN’s fault for [sexualizing] young girls? Mia Khalifa had previously auctioned off her trademark glasses about a year ago to raise money for Lebanon’s Red Cross after the explosion in Beirut, which ended up selling for around $100,000. The twenty-eight-year-old influencer stated: “I wish I could protect every little girl from the male gaze. I know how I feel when men harass me in public, it kills me that other girls get the same abuse just for looking like me”.
