These quotes prove that Schmidt from ‘New Girl’ really is the worst
New Girl was a Fox sitcom that ran from 2011-2018 with seven seasons. It followed a group of roommates as they deal with their day to day lives and romances. It starred Zooey Deschanel at her most manic pixie dream girl-ness and it just wasn’t good. At least to us. While a lot of people liked New Girl, many were turned off by one character in particular: Schmidt (Max Greenfield).
Oh, Schmidt. He may grow on some people like a fungus, but he was always just enough of a jerk to turn a lot of people off. Come on, the guy had a “douchebag jar” that he frequently had to put money in. It just made a lot of series very difficult to watch when he was around.
Schmidt did a lot of bad things from making his friends feel terrible themselves to sleeping with Jess’ sister to sleeping with multiple bosses . . . Schmidt did a lot of bad things. That’s not going with how bad he could get with his relationship with Cece (Hannah Simone).
Since Schmidt was the worst. Here are some quotes to remind how bad he could be.

i just have to stand up for ma boy okay... he’s problematic at time, but so are literally all the other characters

okay, i hate opinion shaming in fandoms, but… bad post, op.
almost every single one of these was either taken way out of context or just generally irrelevant to his position as “the worst.”
he was a d-bag. but he was working on it (thus the jar; he didn’t have to put money in that thing – he chose to), and there is genuine, clear character development in that department.
and as for his relationship with cece, i agree that he made mistakes (namely CHEATING ON HER, which i can’t stand to watch bc boy you know better and she deserves better), but let us not forget that cece was just as bad, if not worse (disregarding the cheating because oof did schmidty boy f up on that one) to him, specifically in the beginning. she continuously belittled and ridiculed him, totally objectified him (which he did not do to her, by the way, since we know he loved her from the start), and generally acted like a total jerk.

ridiculous he provided critical ridiculous humor at the best times. If youre offended by schmidt this much your life must truly be blessed not to have met actual awful men.
