Riccardo Vincenzi: Mastering The Art Of Cinematography In Los Angeles
To anyone who has had the pleasure of meeting or working with Riccardo Vincenzi, it is clear that filmmaking and all things related to the industry are his life’s primary focus. From his dedication as a student at Columbia Film School Hollywood to the zeal and passion he brings to all projects he is involved with, it is indisputable that filmmaking runs in his veins. For years Vincenzi has been dedicated to his craft personally and professionally, honing his eye for captivating storytelling and film production in projects spanning from student films to professional ventures for streaming platforms and established production companies.
The extent of Vincenzi’s professional partnerships reflects the passion that he has fostered throughout his years of experience in the field. His portfolio includes projects with numerous global brands and production companies, including Adidas, Warner Music Group, Ferrari, Ritz Carlton, and several others. His passion for his work is reflected by his adaptability on set, where he has worked in almost every production role needed to finish a video project. One of Vincenzi’s proudest achievements came from his work as the Director of Photography for the production of the TV show “L**** I*****” that will be released this summer on Cpics, where he furthered his abilities as a creative leader on set. In addition to working on TV shows and marketing campaigns for top brands, Vincenzi kept up his creative energy by working on various short films, feature films, and personal projects.
Building off his love for digital video production, he also began to delve into filmmaking in the traditional format of 16mm film, allowing him to learn about the medium in a way that fully appreciated the history of the craft. This experience not only broadened his appreciation for the art as a whole but also fostered his understanding of production outside of film-based cameras by providing a deeper insight into how cameras worked at a fundamental level.
Drawing from his passion for film and his professional filmmaking experiences, Vincenzi has added entrepreneur to his long list of accomplishments. In 2021, Vincenzi started a production rental company with the help of his colleagues to provide productions of all sizes with a turn-key solution for on-location shoots. His company, Film33 Studios, began building a mobile production hub packaged in a standard delivery van chassis that could be rented and deployed by a production company while removing the headaches of sourcing equipment and materials from multiple rental houses. Their 1-ton grip and equipment package incorporates the standard gear commonly needed on set while providing amenities that elevate their business model above their competition. In addition to the standard grip and lighting equipment, their van comes equipped with a mobile editing bay consisting of a calibrated reference monitor and editing software and mobile WiFi infrastructure that allows DIT personnel to offload footage to servers anywhere in the world. These features highlight the extent to which Vincenzi and his partners strive to provide class-leading support to productions of all sizes to ensure that their creative goals are met on time while reducing the number of moving parts that might be expected.
If there is one thing about Vincenzi that is abundantly clear through his relentless pursuit of professional experiences and business acumen, it is that he is never done growing or improving his craft. His achievements and ambitious pursuits working in the film industry permeate every aspect of identity, lending to his creative eye for composition and storytelling.
