The Engineer Starring Emile Hirsch Hits Theaters and Digital August 18th
The Engineer, directed by Danny A. Abeckaser, coming off its worldwide premiere and festival award wins at the 2023 Mammoth Film Festival, is set to hit select theatres and digital on August 18th, written by Kosta Kondilopolous, with distribution through Lionsgate. The film will be available on itunes and amazon, among other streaming channels.

Danny A. Abeckaser (who also has the film INSIDE MAN out now on digital – itunes, amazon, etc which debuted August 11th, also starring Emile Hirsch) directed and produced the film, shot entirely in Israel. The film stars Emile Hirsch, Angel Bonanni, Omer Hazan, Kyle Stefanski, Oshri Cohen, Tsahi Halevi (FAUDA), Lee Keinan, Dan Mor, Robert Davi, May Almakaies, Adam Haloon, and more.
Based on true events, the film covers the story of Yahya Ayyash — The mastermind bomb maker who led an army of suicidal soldiers in Israel during the mid 90s. The story follows the biggest man hunt in the history of Israel to find him.
Emile stars as “Etan,” the head agent looking for ‘The Engineer” and Danny plays “Yakov,” his superior agent.
A prior quote from Abeckaser from the festival debut at Mammoth – “Especially being Israeli, I was extremely intrigued by the international manhunt and back story of ‘The Engineer‘ and have been wanting to tell this story for years. I was thrilled to shoot it with Emile, he is an incredible leading actor, and set in Israel where it all happened. The movie was produced by Danny A. Abeckaser under his company 2B Films along with Yoav Gross and Yoav Gross Productions, as well as executive producer Todd Turner and line producer Keren Noyman. The film’s soundtrack was created by award winning musician Lionel Cohen.
