Does the cast of ‘The Idol’ at least like the show they’re starring in?

The Idol has sparked a lot of controversy following its release. A lot of the audience love or hate this show based on its poor acting yet we can’t help but tune in whenever a new episode drops. 

We’re taking a look at the cast and why we can’t help but watch this trainwreck that’s arrived on HBO.

The Idol

After having a nervous breakdown that caused the cancellation of her last tour, an aspiring pop star begins a complicated relationship with a self-help guru and the head of a contemporary cult.

The main cast for the show is Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye, Lily Rose Depp, and a few notable figures, it’s a shock that this show is a failure. Sam Levinson best known for his work on Euphoria is also involved with this show.

The Weeknd provides a lot of the soundtrack throughout the show and we can’t help but wonder if he’s using the show to promote new music and is hardly focusing on the main part of a successful TV show – good acting. His lackluster character with terribly cringey dialogue is enough to switch the channel (even to watch The Kardashians). 

Who is Aben Tesfaye?

The Weeknd is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and record producer known for his unique sound and distinctive style. Born Abel Makkonen Tesfaye in Toronto, Canada, The Weeknd first gained recognition with the release of his mixtapes on the internet in the early 2010s.
