Does Jaden Smith have a girlfriend? The internet thinks it’s Cara Delevingne

Attention: there might be a hot new couple in town. Cara Delevingne and Jaden Smith have been all the rage recently as they were spotted together kissing behind a bouquet of roses on Valentine’s Day. Is Delevingne the actor’s new girlfriend? Here’s everything we know about the rumored new romance.

How did they meet?

Cara Delevingne and Jaden Smith worked together when they recently co-starred in Life in a Year. The film follows Daryn, played by Smith, and his girlfriend Isabelle (Cara), a young girl who is given a year to live. Although the film was shot in 2017, it wasn’t released until 2020. The movie is now available to stream on Amazon Prime.

Could this be a fake-out?

Though the photos in question (which were obtained by The Daily Mail) unmistakably show Cara Delevingne and Jaden Smith kissing behind a bouquet of roses, (on the most romantic day of the year, no less!), Delevingne is also known to be quite affectionate toward her friends. Last year, for example, the model got a matching tattoo with Kaia Gerber that reads “solemate.” 

Delevingne also got out of a relationship pretty recently. Up until last year, she was dating Pretty Little Liars (2010 to 2017) and Spring Breakers (2012) actress Ashley Benson. After their split, rumors spread that she was the new girlfriend of the singer Halsey, but after Halsey announced she was pregnant with her boyfriend, Alex Aydin’s, boyfriend, those rumors became a little less credible.  

Delevingne has also said to have dated Miley Cyrus, Jake Bugg, Michelle Rodriguez, St. Vincent, and Paris Jackson. Smith, on the other hand, has allegedly dated stars such as Madison Pettis, Stella Hudgens, Kylie Jenner, Amandla Stenberg, Sarah Snyder, and Odessa Adlon.

Fan reactions

When news broke of the potential new romance, fans immediately took to Twitter to share their excitement. One Twitter user wrote: “Since when were Cara Delevingne and Jaden Smith going out??? Or am I just late????” Another wrote: “wait are Cara Delevingne and Jaden Smith dating? Why do I ship these two so hard . . . that actually is so cute.”

Some people were less than happy about the potential new union, however, including one Twitter user who wrote: “not cara Delevingne taking jaden smith from me 😖💔.”

Who is Cara Delevingne?

Cara Delevingne was born in Hammersmith, London, on August 12th, 1992 to Pandora Anne Delevingne and Charles Hamar Delevingne, a property developer. Delevingne went to Francis Holland School for Girls in central London until she moved to Bedales School in Steep, Hampshire at the age of sixteen.

At the age of fifteen, she began to struggle with depression & anxiety. In a 2015 interview with Vogue, she described her experience: “I was hit with a massive wave of depression and anxiety and self-hatred, where the feelings were so painful that I would slam my head against a tree to try to knock myself out.”

At the age of sixteen, Delevingne dropped out of school to follow her older sister, Poppy, into the world of modeling. 

In 2012, Delevingne walked in the Chanel Haute-Couture spring show, and, from there, her modeling career really took off. During the 2012 London Fashion Week, she walked for the Burberry Prorsum Womenswear show. She also participated in Milan Fashion Week, walking for Fendi, Trussardi, Moschino, Blumarine, DSquared, and Dolce & Gabbana. 

Cara Delevingne’s acting career

Cara Delevingne got her start in acting when she played the part of Princess Sorokina in Joe Wright’s 2012 film adaptation of Anna Karenina. A year later, she voiced a DJ in Grand Theft Auto V. 

Delevingne has starred in other big roles, such as Melanie in The Face of an Angel (2014), also starring Daniel Brühl and Kate Beckinsale. She played the leading lady in the adaptation of John Green’s novel Paper Towns, and, after that, in the role of Enchantress in Suicide Squad (2016).
