See ‘Stranger Things’ star Millie Bobby Brown in the role of Princess Leia
Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown is on the shortlist of young Hollywood talent who are skyrocketing to fame, having just come off the 2020 release of the Netflix film Enola Holmes as well as starring in the upcoming Godzilla vs. Kong, expected to be released in theatres & HBO Max in 2021.
Fans of Millie Bobby Brown have taken notice of her rising star, already utilizing the sixteen-year-old actress as a first-round pick in many “fan castings”. But how would the Stranger Things actress fare as Princess Leia of Star Wars, a role made famous by the late Carrie Fisher who played the character in six different films?
Thanks to the popular synthetic media Deepfake, we may have found our answer. Spoiler alert: she’s perfect!
Millie Bobby Brown
Millie Bobby Brown was born on February 19th, 2004, in Spain, with British citizenship through her parents who are both English. At the age of eight, Mille Bobby Brown & her family moved to the U.S., settling in Windermere, Florida.
The young actress made her debut in the 2013 ABC fantasy-series Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, the less-successful spinoff series to Once Upon a Time. She portrayed the role of young Alice. From there, Millie Bobby Brown went on to appear in several guest spots in popular TV series, including Grey’s Anatomy, NCIS, and Modern Family before finally landing her big role that showcased the actress’s incredible talent.
Millie Bobby Brown landed the role of Eleven in Netflix’s smash series with an 80s flare, Stranger Things. The show, based around a group of young kids who face supernatural elements in a world built around nostalgia, leans on Millie Bobby Brown’s incredible acting talents early in the series, which is perhaps a big part of why the show is so successful, expecting to debut its fourth season sometime in 2021 hopefully.
What’s Deepfake?
Deepfake is described as a “synthetic media in which a person in an existing image or video is replaced with someone else’s likeness.”
What started out as a YouTube sensation has now hit more of the mainstream media, being utilized in promotional work such as Hulu, with athletes like Portland Trailblazers star Damian Lillard & Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield being used in a Deepfake video on the bodies of, well, let’s just say less-athletic performers.
This photo manipulation, while fun & freakishly impressive, has been the topic of some controversies, though, with issues such as likeness rights coming into play. As well, Deepfake has been used in multiple hoaxes and, savagely, revenge porn cases.
Millie Bobby Brown as Princess Leia
After fans saw Carrie Fisher play the role of Princess Leia one final time in 2019’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, albeit achieved with pre-recorded footage & effects given her untimely passing before production, fans around the world recognized Fisher as the only Princess Leia. Perhaps this played a big part in the decision to not recast the role.
However, after a new Deepfake video that’s making waves online featuring Millie Bobby Brown in the role of Leia, where we see the actress’s face placed on the body of Carrie Fisher in footage from the original trilogy, we may have a change of heart, as Brown looks perfect in the role of “the Huttslayer”.
From the defined cheek features to the chiseled chin, Brown’s face slips perfectly onto Fisher’s, like Cinderella sliding her foot into the glass slipper for the very first time.
While there are some scenes in question, Like the young actress kissing Harrison Ford or even wearing the famous gold bikini from Return of the Jedi, we’re positive that, should Lucasfilm & Disney ever consider the unthinkable and remake Star Wars, Millie Bobby Brown is hands down the right choice for Princess Leia, and we’re all for it! After all . . . Stranger Things have happened.
