‘Money Heist’ season 5: Who are the new cast members?
Money Heist, known by most of the world as La Casa de Papel, has taken the entire world by storm. The Spanish show has gotten millions of people invested in their eccentric story, created symbols for real world protests, and even broken some Netflix records.
Of course, season 5 of the show is very highly anticipated by fans, even if it will be the last season. The show is known for its unexpected plot twists, complicated storylines, and interesting characters. What we know right now about season 5 is that we’re going to meet two brand new characters.
Who the characters are & what role they’ll play, we don’t yet know, but let’s get to know the actors who have recently been signed on to help tell the end of the Money Heist story.
Miguel Ángel Silvestre
Miguel Ángel Silvestre is 38 years old and has had both Spanish and American roles. Odds are, American audiences are most likely to recognize Silvestre from the popular Netflix show Sense 8 – he played the character, Lito Rodriguez.
Silvestre also did voice-over work for the 2017 animated film Ferdinand. Other works Silvestre has been part of include Sin Tetas no Hay Paraíso and La Distancia.
If you enjoy Silvestre’s work when you see him in Money Heist you can also check him out in the television series 30 Coins (originally titled 30 Monedas). This show follows an exiled priest who tries to escape his demons while living in a remote Spanish village.
Patrick Criado
Patrick Criado is 24 years old, which will make him one of the youngest members of the Money Heist season 5 cast. American audiences aren’t necessarily likely to recognize Criado when seeing him in the new season, since his filmography seems to solely be Spanish projects.
IMDb lists his most notable projects as being El Aspirante, Mar de Plástico, El Rey, and La Línea Invisible.
If you’re hoping to get to know Patrick Criado’s acting style a bit before seeing him in Money Heist you can watch him in the first season of La Línea Invisible – a show following the birth of a Basque terrorist group & their first attack.
What about their characters?
As for what characters Miguel Ángel Silvestre and Patrick Criado will be playing in Money Heist, we aren’t sure yet. We’ve already been lucky enough to get an interesting peek at Criado’s character, however, since some behind-the-scenes images show him acting beside Pedro Alonso, the actor who plays Berlín.
Alonso even posted one of the images to his own Instagram with a caption declaring it to not be the past or the future, but the present. This has us wondering if the fan theory that Berlín is still alive might come to fruition.
Silvestre on the other hand, has us fully in the dark still. The current popular fan theory is that he’s set to become the gang’s next biggest foe & will play the latest police inspector to try and stop the gang from completing their heist, since Alicia Sierra has been fired. This theory seems to be bolstered by the fact the writer, Álex Pina, recently mentioned how important it is for the “villains” to be able to go head to head with The Professor (Álvaro Morte).
