Is Kanye West divorcing Kim Kardashian because he’s gay?
After many tumultuous months of rumors & speculation, Kanye West & Kim Kardashian are finally filing for divorce. Many people are still wondering the real reason behind the famous split. But could it be because West is actually gay? Here’s everything we know about the wild rumors.
The initial divorce rumors
Back before Kanye West & Kim Kardashian’s divorce was solidified, an inside source told Page Six: “This divorce is happening because Kim has grown a lot. She is serious about taking the bar exam and becoming a lawyer, she is serious about her prison reform campaign. Meanwhile Kanye is talking about running for president and saying other crazy sh*t, and she’s just had enough of it.”
Indeed, West had a short campaign for president, during which he broke down in tears and announced that he and Kardashian had considered aborting their daughter, North West.
Following that shocking moment, Kim Kardashian released a statement on her Instagram story. “As many of you know”, she wrote, “Kanye has bi-polar disorder. Anyone who has this, or has a loved one in their life who does, knows how incredibly complicated and painful it is to understand.”
She added: “Those who are close with Kanye know his heart and understand his words some times do not align with his intentions. We as a society talk about giving grace to the issue of mental health as a whole. However, we should also give it to the individuals who are living with it in times when they need it the most.”
Sealing the deal
Kim Kardashian finally filed for divorce against Kanye West on Friday. She’s hoping to obtain joint custody of their children, North West, Chicago West, Saint West, and Psalm West.
Since she sealed the deal on the split, neither Kardashian nor members of her family have spoken out about it. However, Kardashian doesn’t seem all too broken up about it: she celebrated her friend Jonathan Cheban’s birthday on Sunday at Kris Jenner’s Palm Springs pad and documented the event.
When will we know the truth?
Though we’re all undoubtedly dying to hear the details of Kim Kardashian & Kanye West’s divorce, and why exactly it went down, we’re likely going to have to wait until season 20 of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
A source told Page Six about the plans to save the drama for the final season of the show, explaining: “The Kardashians intend to go out with a bang. They’ve filmed Kim discussing her marital problems. But everyone involved is on a nondisclosure agreement, because the finale won’t screen until later in 2021.”
Could the split be because of West’s sexuality?
Though the reasons for Kanye West & Kim Kardashian’s split won’t really be revealed until the final season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, some have speculated that West might have had relationships with men in the past.
When Kardashian was pregnant with North West, a fashion designer named Riccardo Tisci dressed her in a long-sleeved gown. According to In Touch Magazine, Tisci & Kanye West had some sort of secret relationship. Of course, these are merely rumors and have never been confirmed as more than that.
There were also recent rumors that West and YouTuber Jeffree Star had been hooking up in the late stages of his and Kardashians marriage – though, again, those rumors were never substantiated.
The West/Star rumor was started by a TikToker named Ava Louise. She stated Kanye West has cheated on Kim Kardashian with Star but couldn’t come up with any real evidence to back up her claim. Star also commented on the allegations in a vlog, stating that he’s never even hung out with West before.
