Intimidator 305 – 305 feet

With a maximum g-force of 4.5, the Intimidator 305 is a whirlwind of nerve-wracking excitement. This roller coaster is located at Kings Dominion in Doswell, Virginia. The Intimidator 305 was created by the Swiss manufacturer Intamin who is famous for creating Millenium Force and Superman the Ride!

Watch out, this ride reaches a maximum speed of 90 mph! The Intimidator 305 is three minutes of high speed twists and turns. Yet, the ride’s highlight is its 85 degree 300 foot drop!

Leviathan – 306 feet

The Leviathan is the fastest roller coaster in Canada! Located at Canada’s Wonderland in Vaughan, Ontario, this ride also reaches a g-force of 4.5. Reminder: 5 gs is enough to knock a human out cold! 

Head to the Leviathan if you think you can handle it’s wild 306 foot drop and maximum speed of 92 mph!

Millenium Force – 310 feet

The Millenium Force is located at Cedar Point amusement park in Sandusky, Ohio. Opened in 2000, this ride features a 310 foot tall cable lift hill with a 300-foot drop with a maximum incline of eighty degrees, two tunnels, three overbanked turns, and four hills! 

Since its opening, the roller coaster has been surpassed in both height & speed and has been rated the number 1 roller coaster ten times in Amusement Today. Yet, that doesn’t mean this demon ride is meant for everyone. Only the bravest should take a seat on the Millenium Force! 

Steel Dragon 2000 – 318 feet

Also known as Suchiiru Doragon Nisen, this insane roller coaster is located at Nagashima Spa Land amusement park in Kuwana, Mie Prefecture, Japan. Not only is this roller coaster ridiculously high, but it’s also famous for being the longest roller coaster in the world! The Steel Dragon 2000 drags out the fear for four whole minutes!

The roller coaster was opened to the public in 2000 and gets its name from the Chinese astrological dragon which represents the year 2000. The Steel Dragon 2000 reaches an adrenaline pumping maximum speed of 95 mph! The ride’s main feature would have to be it’s absurd 318 foot drop! 

Fury 325 – 325 feet

This roller coaster is the tallest, fastest, and longest giga coaster in North America! The Fury 325 reaches its peak height at 325 feet before dropping at a heart-attack-inducing eighty-one-degree drop. 

The ride time averages at 3.25 minutes long while crossing the border between North & South Carolina! It doesn’t help to soothe your nerves that as you’re heading up the ride’s incline, speakers will loudly warn you to never let your hand off the handles! Head to Carowinds amusement park in Charlotte, North Carolina to ride this monster of a roller coaster.

Red Force – 367 feet

Located at Ferrari Land in Salou, Catalonia, Spain, this roller coaster was also created by Intamin. Red Force reaches a heart-stopping height of 367 feet and a maximum speed of 112 mph. 

The roller coaster goes from zero to 112 mph in only five seconds! Red Force is considered the fastest roller coaster in Europe. This ride really gives you no time to even consider making your will and testament as it is already over in just thirty-nine seconds. 

Tower of Terror II – 377 feet

Although this ride was shut down in 2019, it was once considered the fastest & tallest roller coaster in the world! This ride was the first roller coaster to reach a maximum speed of 100 mph and an ultimate height of 377 feet.

The ride zoomed its passengers backwards and lifted up towards its 377 foot peak before dropping riders face down its steep incline! This speed demon only lasted twenty-eight seconds but it was still one heck of a ride. 

Superman: Escape from Krypton – 413 feet

After the closure of Tower of Terror II, Superman: Escape from Krypton became the only reverse freefall roller coaster left in operation. This roller coaster is located at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, California. This ride has the third highest drop of any roller coaster in the world! 

Similar to the Tower of Terror II, this ride catapults its passengers at 100 mph before dropping them 413 feet! Although only twenty-eight seconds, this ride isn’t for the faint of heart.

Top Thrill Dragster – 420 feet

Another roller coaster created by Intamin, this ride is located at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. When it opened in 2003 it was considered the tallest roller coaster in the world! This ride is only one of two strata coasters in existence. A strata coaster is a ride with a height or drop of at least 400 feet. 

The height is not the only thing to fear, this ride reaches a maximum speed of 120 mph! This world record-breaking roller coaster is only for the most insane adrenaline seekers. We’re too scared to even watch POV videos of the Top Thrill Dragster! 

Kingda Ka – 456 feet

Without further ado, here’s the tallest roller coaster in the world, the Kingda Ka. This monstrous ride is located at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey. Besides the Top Thrill Dragster, this is the only other strata coaster in the world! 

The Kingda Ka has held the record of the world’s tallest coaster drop ever since 2005! If you have nerves of steel try sitting in the front row at the tallest roller coaster in the world!
