Indie Film Fest of the Day: London’s TweetFest Film Festival
If you’re in the indie film community you’ll know that networking is everything. That’s why we’re delighted to invite all UK film folks to The TweetFest Film Festival happening later this week. The UK Actors Tweetup is a cross-Atlantic organization that offers its audience access to incredible speakers they otherwise wouldn’t have access to.
Past speakers have included The Hubbards (Bourne), Deborah Wiley from Independent (Sophie Turner, Jodie Whitaker), Kate Herron (Sex Education), Agency Conway van Gelder Grant (rep. Benedict Cumberbatch), Jeremy Zimmermann (Hell Boys), Ray Panthaki, Alex Segal from agency Cole Kitchenn, and Daniel Edwards (Mr Selfridge) to name a few.
When they started TweetFest Film Festival five years ago, the aim was to showcase brilliant upcoming British talent and have exceptional VIP judges to watch finalists’ work. They wanted to help future filmmakers create long futures in the industry and champion women in film with the introduction of an F-Rated night in 2018 dedicated to female short films (director, writer, crew female heavy, female leads etc).
The film festival is now in its 5th year and is looking like the biggest and best yet. You can reserve your tickets for the final night gala screening and awards party at the Hackney Picturehouse on Tues 12th Nov here now.
The VIP judges at their TweetFest festival over the years have included the likes of:
- Hat Trick Productions
- Blaine Brothers (Nina Forever)
- Manuel Puro at Puro Casting (Moon, The Machine)
- Gemma Sykes
- BAFTA nominated producer Alex Moody (Alan Carr, Argumental, BAFTA-nominated Funny Valentines)
- Roland Moore (writer)
- Variety Magazine International Director Alberto Lopez
- and producer Jesse Mangum from Goalpost.
Make sure you attend the film festival, which is running from the 9th to the 12th November in London.

“I attended TweetFest for the first time this year with my film and I was really impressed with the quality of films on show, the organisation and the overall feeling of being welcomed at the festival. I would highly recommend this festival for filmmakers looking to meet other industry people and do some networking. The gala night was fantastic!” —Smari Gunn
“Great fun and friendly festival. Really good line up and very nice closing gala at the end, met so many friendly fellow filmmakers! Love the organizers too hosting the event. Highly recommend it TweetFest to filmmakers in London and around the globe!”

“Fantastic to see how this festival has grown in just three years. I enjoyed and was inspired by the selection of films that made it into the festival. It was great to have the F rating- Female filmmakers night. I wish more festivals would do this. I also met some wonderful people and look forward to next year.”
