The Vlog Squad has had its fair share of controversy over the years. But just what is Durte Dom apologizing for? Uncover his side of the story.

Did Durte Dom assault Vlog Squad fans?

Dominykas Zeglaitis, better known as “Durte Dom,” returned to YouTube six months after Insider’s original investigation where a woman named Hannah alleged that Zeglaitis raped her while she was blackout drunk. Today, two new women have accused Zeglaitis of sexual misconduct in 2017 and 2018. One woman said Zegalitis told her he had shared a video of her in her underwear without her consent.

Of course, many will recognize the name “Durte Dom” from popular YouTube group the Vlog Squad, whose creator is vlog superstar David Dobrik, who’s also had his fair share of controversies in the past year or so. That being noted, it’s no surprise that there’s been a trickling-down effect when it comes to those who have worked under the Vlog Squad banner, seemingly acting inappropriately and doing whatever they please.

Now, nearly six months after leaving YouTube amidst allegations of sexual assault, Durte Dom has returned to the video platform to share his side of the story from years ago when a slew of Vlog Squad fans came to the creator’s house. Just how involved was David Dobrik, and was Durte Dom really guilty of these horrific claims? Let’s dive in together and see what we can find.

The room where it happened

In March, Durte Dom was accused of sexually assaulting an intoxicated woman as David Dobrik filmed a vlog in the same apartment where the event took place. It was also said that the two, along with other members of the Vlog Squad, purchased booze for underage girls. In March, Durte Dom was accused of sexually assaulting an intoxicated woman as David Dobrik filmed a vlog in the same apartment where the event happened.

It was also said that the two, along with other members of the Vlog Squad, purchased alcohol for underage girls. So, in an eleven-minute video titled “exposing the truth”, Durte Dom talked about the night “Hannah” and her friend found themselves in a room with him. Dom explained that he had not ‘done a good job of separating Durte Dom, the crazy party animal, the guy who hooks up with a bunch of girls, and me, Dominykas.’

While speaking about the night in question, Dom claims that he, Hannah, and her friend went to his room to “hook up” after several girls and the Vlog Squad had started hitting the bottle. As the three were in the bedroom, Dom said that Vlog Squad members David, Todd, and Jeff would “peek inside the room,” stating that they did not see anything wrong with doing so. Ok, Durte Dom, you have our attention . . .

And then . . .

Durte Dom continued, explaining how after he and the girls hooked up, Hannah passed out in his bed, due to her being more intoxicated than the other girls, forcing Hannah’s best friend to get her dressed so that they could party elsewhere. Durte Dom went on further to explain how both he and Hannah shared a “cordial relationship” in the days prior, making jokes about painting his nails and whatnot.

He then explained how she mentioned him a few months later, pleading that the vlog taken from that night would need to be taken down from Dobrik’s YouTube channel. Now, here we are, in a place where we feel like we’re getting more “apology” centric videos from Vlog Squad members than we are actual content. Hopefully, we learn the truth in the months to come.

Regardless, maybe the Vlog Squad needs to simply shut down operations for a while, seeing as their once funloving brand has been quite tarnished over the past two years, thanks to accusations of sexual harassment, bullying, assault, etc. It’s too much baggage.
