Gosling's excitement is palpable. Could his "Ken-ergy" spark a new movement in Hollywood?

Did Ryan Gosling truly receive a sign from the universe to play Ken?

Ryan Gosling is no stranger to romcoms, but his latest venture appears to be drowning in pink and plays more on comedy than romance. Gosling is starring in one of this summer’s most anticipated movies Greta Gerwig’s Barbie in a role he appears to be destined for – Ken.

Was Ryan Gosling inspired by the universe to play the role of Ken?

Ryan Gosling’s career

Ryan Gosling is a Canadian actor, musician, and producer who has become one of the most sought-after talents in Hollywood. He was born on November 12, 1980, in London, Ontario, Canada, and began his career as a child actor before rising to fame in the early 2000s.

Gosling’s breakthrough role came in 2004 when he starred in the romantic drama The Notebook. The film was a commercial and critical success and cemented Gosling’s status as a leading man. His performance in the film earned him numerous accolades, including a Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie Actor in a Drama and an MTV Movie Award for Best Kiss with co-star Rachel McAdams.

Following the success of The Notebook, Gosling went on to star in several other critically acclaimed films. He played the lead role of Lars in the 2007 film Lars and the Real Girl, for which he received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical. He also starred in the crime drama Drive in 2011, which was praised for its visual style and Gosling’s performance as the stoic and mysterious Driver.

In addition to acting, Gosling is also an accomplished musician. He formed the band Dead Man’s Bones in 2007 with his friend Zach Shields, and they released their self-titled debut album in 2009. The album was well-received by critics, with many praising Gosling’s haunting vocals and the band’s unique sound.

Gosling’s career thrived throughout the years, with standout performances in films like Blue Valentine, Crazy, Stupid, Love, and La La Land. His performance in La La Land earned him a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy and an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. Gosling has also ventured into producing, serving as an executive producer for the film The Place Beyond the Pines in 2012 and the television series The Believer in 2020.

Despite his success, Gosling has remained grounded and focused on his craft. He is known for his dedication to his roles, often immersing himself in the characters he plays. He is also known for his humility and has been praised by colleagues for his kindness and professionalism on set.

Ryan Gosling’s career has been marked by a string of impressive performances in both film and music. He has become one of the most respected and sought-after actors in Hollywood, earning numerous accolades for his work. His dedication to his craft, natural talent, and humble demeanor have made him a beloved figure in the entertainment industry, with fans eagerly anticipating his next project.

Barbie & Ken

Ryan Gosling appears to be the perfect choice to play Ken in the upcoming Barbie film. CNN reports, “In an appearance this week on “The Tonight Show,” Gosling was eager (“Ken-ergetic,” maybe) to discuss the never-before-heard tale of how his casting as Ken was fated.

As Gosling tells it, some time ago, director Gerwig offered Gosling the part of Ken. The script was the “best … [he’d] ever read,” he told host Jimmy Fallon, but he wanted to take a moment and consider the decision in the fresh air. When he walked into his backyard, he discovered an otherwise-pristine, shirtless Ken doll, facedown in the mud next to a “squished lemon,” Gosling said.”

So he’s clearly eager for fans to see the dazzling pink film, but was he destined to play the lead alongside Margot Robbie? “The future Ken snapped a photo of the affecting scene, perhaps a sign from the universe, and texted it to Gerwig. “I said, ‘I shall be your Ken. For his story must be told,’” Gosling told Fallon.”
