Will this long-awaited adaptation meet our sky-high expectations? Take a look at Hugh Jackman in a nerd-tastically stunning photo of Wolverine!

Wait, will Hugh Jackman be back in ‘Deadpool 3’? Let’s find out

Can you imagine the roar that echoed around the globe when the news hit? After over two decades of making our screens sizzle as Wolverine, Hugh Jackman is back and better than ever, finally sporting the iconic yellow and blue superhero suit in the upcoming blockbuster, Deadpool 3. We’ve waited long enough, but trust us, it’s worth the wait!

Spicy treats

When the behind-the-scenes snap of Hugh Jackman, dressed in all his superhero glory, walking side-by-side with Deadpool’s Ryan Reynolds hit Twitter, fans around the globe lost their collective minds. And rightly so! The original X-Men franchise tiptoed around the classic costumes, especially Wolverine’s bright yellow outfit that defined him in the Marvel Comics and the much-loved 90’s animated X-Men series. So this fashion revelation sparked a frenzy of fan excitement that could only be accurately described as an absolute field day.

Floods of tweets expressed a mix of shock, joy, and sheer anticipation as fans got a first glimpse of the comic book accurate Wolverine suit on film. “This is crazy!” one Twitter user exclaimed, while another confessed, “Wolverine is one of my favourite characters of all time so it’s a dream come true to finally see this happen. Extremely, EXTREMELY excited for this one.”

New speculation

However, while the star-studded suit caused many fans to beam with delight, the eagle-eyed amongst them couldn’t help but point out a surprising deviation – the suit includes sleeves, unlike Wolverine’s classic look in the comic books. One Twitter user shared his conflicted feelings, “I’m so happy we are finally getting Hugh Jackman in the classic Wolverine costume in Deadpool 3 but I really wish it didn’t have sleeves.”

Although some wished for a sleeveless look, others conjectured that the added layer might be a protective measure against the sun for the Australian actor, who has previously undergone skin cancer treatments. One such speculation read, “Just been made aware Wolverine’s suit has sleeves likely because Hugh Jackman is susceptible to skin cancer & they wanna cover him up as much as they can. Fair enough!”

Nerds rejoice

Adding to the excitement was the teaser video released by Reynolds in September, hinting at the return of the fast-healing mutant with virtually indestructible adamantium claws for Deadpool 3. This surprise came as a shock, considering Jackman had previously said his Wolverine days were over.

Since 2000, Jackman has played the character nine times in films such as X2: X-Men United, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and The Wolverine, to name a few. His last appearance was in 2017’s Logan, where his character met a tragic end due to adamantium poisoning. But as they say, in the world of superheroes, it’s never really the end, is it?

The reminder

Adding to the drama, the Wolverine star recently took to Instagram to address the speculation about his health. Having been treated for skin cancer five times in the past, Jackman acknowledged his bandaged nose and candidly discussed the possibility of his basal cell carcinoma returning.

In a heartfelt video, Jackman told his 31 million-plus followers about his recent biopsies and reminded them of the importance of wearing sunscreen. He attributed his skin cancer experience to his sun-soaked upbringing in Australia and confessed that he never wore sunscreen during his youth.

“The Golden Globe-winning actor thus urged his followers to take heed. “If I can just take this opportunity to remind you, summer is coming,” Jackman said on Instagram. “For those of us here in the Northern Hemisphere, please wear sunscreen. It is just not worth it. No matter how much you wanna tan, trust me, trust me, trust me.”

This dramatic unveiling of Wolverine’s suit, coupled with Jackman’s personal health journey, has created a flurry of anticipation for Deadpool 3. But it leaves us with a burning question: Will this long-awaited adaptation meet our sky-high expectations? And perhaps more importantly, will you be slathering on the sunscreen before you head out? It seems our favorite Wolverine has some advice worth following!
