This one detail proves Jenna Ortega was born to be in ‘Beetlejuice 2’

Ready for a nostalgic rewind with a modern twist? Buckle up, because the enchanting Jenna Ortega, known for her role in Wednesday, is here to bring us right into the eccentric universe of Beetlejuice 2. The cult classic is finally getting its long-awaited sequel, and it’s been buzzing with anticipation.

New generation

Ortega has been spotted transforming into the daughter of Winona Ryder’s unforgettable character Lydia Deetz. The twenty-year-old starlet was seen channeling her inner Lydia as she cycled down the quaint Main Street of East Corinth, Vermont, where much of the original film was shot.

Clad in a distressed, striped sweater dress and stylish black knee-high boots, Ortega delivered a performance that exuded an enticing mix of charm and intensity.

Subtle nods to the iconic red bridge and a recreation of the original town’s “Welcome to Winter River” sign sent ripples of excitement through onlookers and dedicated fans. All the while, the town was dressed perfectly to capture the spirit of Halloween, bringing a familiar yet fresh touch to the beloved classic.

Just last week, our screens were graced with a beautiful reunion between Ortega and Ryder as they were filmed in an intriguing wedding scene. The excitement was palpable, seeing Ryder back in her element as Lydia Deetz, a whole 36 years after the original.

New duo

The sequel promises a return to the quirky universe that so many of us grew to love. And it seems, this time around, it won’t just be Ryder who’s returning to the eccentric world. It’s still a question whether other familiar faces from the original cast like Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis, Jeffrey Jones, and Catherine O’Hara will return. Either way, fans are eagerly awaiting the premiere, which is expected sometime in 2024.

In case you’ve forgotten, Beetlejuice, penned by Michael McDowell and Warren Skaaren, is an unforgettable tale of a recently deceased married couple trying to scare away the new residents of their former home. The ensuing chaos that Beetlejuice brings about is both delightful and chaotic, leaving a lasting impression on every viewer.

The sequel follows the storyline after Lydia has grown up and has a teenage daughter of her own. And yes, Beetlejuice and all the spookiness that comes with him is set to return too.

A Spooky Sneak Peek

Recently, fans were treated to sneak peeks from the set of Beetlejuice 2. Pictures from People showcased Winona Ryder reprising her role as Lydia Deetz alongside Jenna Ortega, hinting at a wedding scene, with Ortega donned in a wedding-like dress. These captivating shots were taken in Hertfordshire, UK, sparking further intrigue among eager fans.

The movie boasts an incredible lineup with the return of Michael Keaton as Beetlejuice and other familiar faces such as Catherine O’Hara. New additions like Justin Theroux and Monica Bellucci, who’s set to play Beetlejuice’s wife, promise to add new layers to the enchanting narrative.

Finally, the movie is set to hit the screens on September 6th, 2024. With the buzz already surrounding it, it’s bound to be a smashing hit, but will it live up to the magic of the original?
