Did the theft of a ring reduce Kyle Richards’s net worth?

Imagine seeing your most prized possession on the internet – worn by a stranger. At first glance, you might think they also have great taste; however, seeing a replica of a family heirloom on a stranger is suspicious – especially after your home was recently burglarized.

The psychic thief

Life for Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards got flipped upside down after actress Diane Keaton posted a photo of a woman wearing what appeared to Richards to be her mother’s stolen ring. According to Richards, “I was looking on Instagram and I saw Diane Keaton – she posted a picture of a psychic’s hands on the Third Street Promenade and they had my ring on her hand.”

Richards contacted Keaton’s team immediately after she saw the photo to get more information on the “fortune teller” who was wearing the ring. Keaton told Richards that she saw the woman at a pharmacy and only took a photo of the woman’s hands “because she thought the nails were so interesting.”

A pile of evidence

The hands in the photo belonged to 75-year-old Diana French, who is not a fortune teller nor someone who would steal a ring. In fact, French is a pharmacy clerk and claimed she owned the ring for decades. She only learned about the situation after her twin sister called her and said, “Diana, your hand’s on Google.” (Imagine the shock of hearing that.)

French said the ring belonged to her mother, who was killed many years ago, and that her father gave it to her after her mother’s devastating passing. She even has the ring’s appraisal from 1980 and many vintage family photos that picture her wearing the ring. Furthermore, French’s granddaughter took to TikTok to share a photo of her grandmother wearing the ring years ago. (Sounds like a pretty solid alibi to us.)

Not so fast

Although Richards went public with her stolen ring, she never accused French of theft. Instead, Richards thought French might have purchased it at a pawn shop and was going to offer to buy it back from her.

Diane French has solid evidence that she’s been wrongly accused and is waiting for an apology from Richards.
