‘Star Trek: Lower Decks’: Binge these iconic shows on Paramount+

Paramount+ dropped in March 2021 and is already making waves as one of the best new services offering exclusive content this year. Paramount is known for its movies, but people are flocking to Paramount+ for a different reason: there’s a ton of TV series you can only get on the new Paramount+ platform.

From Comedy Central to MTV, Paramount+ has snatched up some of TV’s most followed cult networks and offers a plethora of their most hard-to-find shows. We’ve gathered some of the best now-defunct & evasive shows on Paramount+ below that prove the service holds some of the most iconic seasons available to stream.

Star Trek: Lower Decks

Paramount+ may have a bunch of great canceled or lost seasons of cult TV, but the platform also has some of the most sought after new content coming to streaming, much of which is exclusive to Paramount+. One of 2020’s most desired shows by cartoon freaks & sci-fi fans alike is Star Trek: Lower Decks.

Star Trek: Lower Decks is the first animated Star Trek series since the 1970s, and boy, does it show; Star Trek: Lower Decks is a cartoon for adults and features a killer voice cast from Jerry O’Connell to Dawnn Lewis. Paramount+ has trekkies between a rock & hard place if they want to add Star Trek: Lower Decks to their collection though, because it’s only available on the new service.

The Ren & Stimpy Show

Paramount+’s cartoons don’t stop with Star Trek: Lower Decks. In fact, Paramount+’s list of Nickelodeon shows feature some of the most iconic cartoons of the 1990s & early 2000s and will have millennials in a nostalgia haze with hours of binging to be had on the service. There’s no Nickelodeon show more iconic than The Ren & Stimpy Show.

When cartoons could still shock us, Ren & Stimpy were leading the shock jock cartoon game with some of the most bizarre, gross, and unsettling episodes of animated TV audiences had ever seen when the show premiered in 1991.

Many of us still have the The Ren & Stimpy Show’s still oil-painted frames of grotesque body horror burned into our brains to this day. However, the show is a fever dream which belongs in a museum, and those lucky enough to see Ren & Stimpy on Paramount+ will soon remember why The Ren & Stimpy Show is legendary.

Kroll Show

Nickelodeon’s bracket on Paramount+ offers dozens of gems, but its Comedy Central section is nothing to turn your nose up at. Before Big Mouth brought Nick Kroll to the end of rave reviewer’s fingertips, he dropped Kroll Show in 2013 and gave audiences one of the funniest & original sketch comedy shows of the early 2010s.

Kroll brings audiences a wide breadth of hilarious characters from Bobby Bottleservice to the ameezing Liz (I’m the bigger one) in a tangled web of sketchesall connecting seamlessly with each other. Kroll Show ultimately spoofs reality TV in the most accurate display since Burning Love and is a treasure trove of laughs not to be missed.

Nathan for You

Simply put: Nathan for You is genius. Nathan Fielder presents a show in which he helps small businesses with absurd plans like having a liquor store pre-order booze to minors to pick up when they reach drinking age.

Nathan for You is a scripted reality series blurring the lines of fiction & reality and delivers such insane cringe moments that Nathan Fielder will soon reveal himself as the bravest person you know.

Furthermore, it’s hilarious, and as viewers watch the series, Nathan’s persona develops and we soon realize there’s more to this show than we thought. Nathan for You will have you asking yourself how a reality-comedy show could be the greatest performance art piece of our time. Somehow, Nathan for You may be just that.

Paramount+ may not have everything, but the service offers some of the most iconic cult TV series available in one place on streaming. If you’re anything like us, these picks alone will have you filling out the free trial form to see what else Paramount+ has to offer.
