Did Olivia Wilde dump Jason Sudeikis for Harry Styles? Here’s the tea

We’re only a couple of days in 2021, and there is already celebrity dating speculation. Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis broke their seven-year-long engagement off at the start of 2020. About a year is a decent time to get over a break-up, especially in 2020 which as like a hundred years in one, so naturally, are we really surprised to hear about Olivia Wilde and Harry Styles?

The hot goss there is that Wilde and Styles were seen holding hands together. That alone wouldn’t get you up and going because Styles likes holding hands. He held Lizzo’s hand. And there’s a whole other conversation about how Wilde gets the dating speculation talk, and Lizzo didn’t. But that’s not the reason for this article. Even though, oh boy, it makes you fired up, right?

A brief history of Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis

Shortly after her divorce from husband Tao Ruspoli was finalized, Wilde started to date Jason Sudeikis, known for his work in Horrible Bosses and The Angry Birds Movie. The pair became engaged in 2012, but never married. Over the course of their relationship, however, they had two children: Otis (b. 2014) and Daisy (b. 2016). Recently, they announced that they separated at the beginning of 2020. 

A source close to the couple told People Magazine in Nov. 2020, “The split happened at the beginning of the year. It’s been amicable and they’ve transitioned into a great co-parenting routine. The children are the priority and the heart of the family’s relationship.” Seriously, the split is still news to fans even though Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis have been co-parenting and everything.

And it looks like they’ve been doing well too! There were some snaps of Sudeikis and Wilde out to the beach with their kids over the summer: playing, splashing, and having a grand old time.. So, clearly, this is a fairly amicable split between the pair, even though the reason for it is unknown. 

How does Harry Styles fit into the picture?

So the rumors about Wilde and Styles’ relationship starts at a wedding in California last weekend of a guy named Jeff, who is Styles’ agent. Naturally, Styles should be there because an agent is a pretty important person in an entertainer’s life. The pair were seen holding hands at the wedding. Clearly, they came together for the ceremony. Usually, when you bring someone as a date to a wedding, you’re together.

Unless it’s some weird revenge thing, but that just could be a fictional sort of occurrence. Well . . . maybe. If you’ve seen Bridezillas, then would you really be surprised at that happening? Either way, Harry Styles was in a wide-legged suit and Olivia Wilde was in a floral dress. They held hands. It was hard to get a read on their faces because, naturally, they were wearing face masks.

According to People Magazine, a source said, “They were affectionate around their friends, held hands and looked very happy. They have dated for a few weeks.” Styles is in Don’t Worry Darling, a film that Wilde stars in and directs. So that’s definitely how they met. 

Anything else?

Neither Wilde nor Styles reps have said anything about the romance, so right now it’s just speculation until someone confirms something. On Styles when he was cast in Don’t Worry Darling, Wilde did have this say on him joining the film:

“I hope that this brand of confidence as a male that Harry has—truly devoid of any traces of toxic masculinity—is indicative of his generation and therefore the future of the world. I think he is in many ways championing that, spearheading that. It’s pretty powerful and kind of extraordinary to see someone in his position redefining what it can mean to be a man with confidence.”
