Ever wonder how long a show can possibly last? Uncover the story and see why the heck 'Emily in Paris' is still on Netflix and hasn't been cancelled yet.

Why hasn’t Netflix cancelled ‘Emily in Paris’ already?

One huge question people generally have about Emily in Paris on Netflix is . . . Why hasn’t the show been canceled already? It has received a lot of hate & backlash but the series has stood the test of time, and Emily in Paris has been renewed for a second upcoming season for a reason.

There are also a lot of people out there who totally love the show! Lily Collins is the stunning young actress who plays the titular role in the show and after seeing her do her thing in Season 1, fans are keeping their fingers crossed that Season 2 will be a little less cliché and a little more honorable towards Paris culture.

Emily in Paris season 2 cast

The cast we’ll see in season 2 of Emily in Paris on Netflix will be a direct reflection of what we saw in season 1. Lily Collins will be returning as Emily, making her way through Paris one day at a time. The character of Emily tries new food, tries new dresses, dates a multitude of people, and does her all-out best to live her best life.

She sometimes comes off the wrong way and rubs viewers a bit wrong, yet there is still something very lovable about Emily. Critics were very harsh with the first season because they felt that French culture wasn’t depicted in the proper manner.

None of that has anything to do with Collins though, as she continues to play the role of Emily. It’s not like she’s the one who writes the scripts. Other cast members we’ll see returning include Lucas Bravo as Gabriel, Camille Razat as Camille, and Ashley Park as Mindy Chen.

What will season 2 be about?

According to the official season to logline for Emily in Paris on Netflix, there’s going to be a lot of intense drama to watch unfold. It states, “Now more entrenched in her life in Paris, Emily is getting better at navigating the city but still struggling with the idiosyncrasies of French life”.

It continues, “After stumbling into a love triangle with her neighbor and her first real French friend, Emily is determined to focus on her work – which is getting more complicated by the day. In French class, she needs a fellow Expat who both infuriates & intrigues her”.

The first season left us with a major cliffhanger about the love triangle mentioned in the official logline. It’s good news they’ll be addressing the messy love triangle drama in season 2 because that’s the biggest storyline fans are holding their breath over.

How Lily Collins feels about the show

After the first season of Emily in Paris continually received a lot of backlash, Lily Collins didn’t respond to the negativities with a sense of defeat. She told Vogue Arabia, “As disheartening as it sometimes is to read these things, it’s also a gift; you’re being allowed to improve”. She’s absolutely right to look at things through such a positive lens.

Instead of considering the show to be a failure that deserves to be canceled, the writers know what they can do to improve moving forward in the future so that the same mistakes aren’t made. Enough people were charmed by the first season anyway which means it can only move upward from here.

What to look out for in season 2

Season 2 of Emily in Paris is obviously going to spend a lot of time covering the romantic scenario Emily got herself entangled in, as well as the difficult business situation she must face in the workplace.

One thing we know for sure that will be included in season 2 is the unlimited gorgeous fashion & trendy outfits. Season 1 never missed a beat when it came to Emily’s amazing apparel and the second season she will follow that pattern.
