Using the list of Top series on Netflix NZ, we have found some of the most popular series for you, which you can relish with your family and friends.

So, let’s start!

Most Popular Netflix New Zealand Series

1)The Crown

As exciting as it is to get a glimpse beyond royal walls and into the personal life of one the most renowned families worldwide, one can never be entirely confident of the ratio between fiction and reality in this series.

Matt Smith and Claire Foy set the mood with their stunning portrayals of young Philip and Elizabeth, who must balance their love through the strains of duty and the public eye. At the same time, Vanessa Kirby captivated the crowd with the complicated Princess Margaret.

As time passed, Josh O’Connor and Emma Corrin brought Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s failed marriage into reality as Olivia Colman, and Helena Bonham Carter led the cast into a new chapter of the monarchy.

But now the series is coming with a different cast which has been revamped, featuring Imelda Staunton, Elizabeth Debicki, Dominic West and Jonathan Pryce, and others taking up the crucial roles.

The series offers a tempting unexpected glimpse into a life we thought we understood and people whose lives we’ve monitored so carefully from a distance. It is a well-played, extravagant, heavy-budget series on Netflix that deserves a watch.

2)One of us is lying

One of Us Is Lying, adapted from the same-named book of Karen M. McManus, revolves around Simon’s (portrayed by Mark Mckenna) strange killing after his suspension at Bayview High School goes disastrously wrong when he has an extreme allergic reaction.

Once the authorities confirm the tragedy is not accidental, Simon’s friends Addy (portrayed by Annalisa Cochrane, Nate (described by Cooper van Grootel), Bronwyn (Portrayed by Marian Tejada), and Cooper (Chibuikem Uche), who are left behind in custody, potentially turn into suspects during an entertaining homicide case.

Despite the growing number of young-adult programs, One of Us Is Lying succeeds in differentiating itself from the competition as an entertaining, well-written, and character-driven thriller.

The brand-new season of the series is out on Netflix. You can check out the list of 5 rom-com movies on Netflix.

3)The Midnight Club

With recent projects such as Gerald’s Game and Doctor Sleep and older classics like The Haunting of Hill House and Midnight Mass, Mike Flanagan has proven himself a horror maestro. He has since returned in a more teen-focused series that still carries a scary blow.

The Midnight Club focuses on a group of teenagers who are terminally sick & meet at night at Brightcliffe Hospice care to hear scary stories. It’s a profoundly moving show with a diverse cast of central protagonists and a captivating major story with numerous frightening plot twists.

4) I Hate Christmas

It’s not often you hear the phrase “I hate Christmas,” but this new Italian fun series focuses on this.

Our protagonist, Gianna, is a young woman who’s sick of everybody questioning her, “And your loved one?” on special occasions. She devises a plan for getting a companion to attend Christmas dinner alongside her to avoid any more concerns.

Although Gianna is extremely chaotic throughout the series, as she has barely 25 days to find a new boyfriend, the series will offer lots of Christmas spirit.

Even if you think the cliché is boring, this series pumps new excitement and energy into everything you know regarding Christmas-themed romantic comedies. It is the plot of a number of the most beloved Christmas rom-com.

5)Cat Burglar

Netflix’s latest cartoon special, Cat Burglar, recounts the exploits of a fictional cat burglar. At the same time, he tries to steal valuable artwork from a gallery after escaping Peanut a Security Puppy.

There’s a meaningful twist: if the show’s protagonist sneaks by Peanut, you, the audience, should answer occasional pop quizzes. If you don’t respond correctly, Rowdy Cat will likely receive a severe punishment.

Charlie Brooker, the writer of the novel Bandersnatch for Black Mirror, is the creator of the series. Cat Burglar is an entertaining ride and a wonderful nostalgia excursion for animated fans, with gory cartoonish fighting harking back to the classic era of animated films.

6)Ricky and Morty

If you haven’t given it a watch, let us tell you that the famous animated feature is certainly not intended for children. The story centers around scientific genius & cosmic criminal Rick, who usually leads his grandchild Morty on frightening diversions. But amid the horrific events, there is a well-crafted human drama about a household trying desperately to stay together.

Creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, together with a talented team of sci-fi scribes, produced an excellent fifth season of Rick and Morty which maintained a few of the series’ better-known plot points while adding numerous new, wild ideas.

Most importantly, audiences have become obsessed with the notion of an evil Morty, whose actions, in the end, might alter the strange universe of the series. Also, check out this guide to find out the release date of Rick and Morty Season 7.
