Business aircrafts and private travel are a necessity nowadays, and the pandemic has accelerated the need to travel safely and access many airports.

Business aviation is the use of any “general aviation” aircraft for business purposes. These aircrafts can be owned or car by the company depending on their needs uses and how often they require such aviation services. They can include any sort of aircraft like airplanes, helicopters, or jets. 

In this article, we shall talk more about the top 10 influential business aircrafts in the last 60 years. 

Learjet 23, 1960:

The Learjet 23 became one of the most commonly used travel vehicles by so many companies in the 1960s. It was also used by many famous celebrities to travel from L.A to Vegas. The Learjet is a 6-passenger flight whose design is based on a Swiss fighter jet.

Cessna 500 Citation-I, 1969:

When Cessna initially came out, it wasn’t a very famous aircraft. Very few people brought it due to its strong competitors like the Learjet. But soon many people started turning their attention towards Cessna due to its low cost, and high improvements in wingspan sizes, and the change of many powerful engines. 

The company soon changed its name from Cessna 500 to Citation I. More and more people started finding out how efficient Citation was, and quick enough, almost half the business aircrafts used around the world were Citations.

Dassault Falcon 50 Trijet:

Dassault is the first company to succeed in adding 3 engines. They successfully reached their goal of Transatlantic flights. Soon, the jets were further developed with more modifications that further support industry-based purposes. They modified supercritical wings for transoceanic travels and developed Falcon EX, which could fly higher and faster.

Gulfstream GV, 1977:

Gulfstream ‘G5’ is one of the world’s most famous business jets. The GV was a huge breakthrough for Gulfstream, with its first ultra-long-range business jets. The Gulfstream was famous for its very strong engine, with a range of 6500 nautical miles. This success led to the development of Gulfstream G550, G650 and set an example for modern-day business jets.

Embraer Phenom 300, 2008:

Embraer came out in the mid-20s, a very lightheaded aircraft. They released both Phenom 100 and 300 at the same time. While initially, people thought this decision to be shrewd, it turned out to be a huge profit. 

The Phenom 100 was smaller in size and the Phenom 300 was the larger one and much more efficient. This helped the customer to choose any jet they want based on their needs. But out of these two, Phenom 300 became the highest selling aircraft. 

These are very popular throughout UK and Europe and used by big jet carter.

Citation latitude 2015:

The Citation landed a huge profit when they released the Citation Latitude model 680A. they developed fuel capacity and better flat-floor planning. The Citation Latitude became a ‘game changer’ and became the best-selling mid-size jet. 

Bombardier Global 500, 2018:

The Global 7500 is very known for its high speed, with over 593 miles per hour which led to several speed and city-spar records. It has a range of 7900 nautical miles with 19 passengers in a four-zone cabin. With a new transonic wing, the Global 500 offers maximum speed and thrust while flying. 

Boeing BBJ Max 9, 2018:

The Boeing BBJ Max is known for its high fuel-efficient CFM LEAP-1B engines and advanced winglets to provide a 7000-mile nautical range with 13% better fuel burn than the original Boeing jets. This flight offers up to 3 times the size of a normal business jet which made it likable by many customers. 

Airbus ACJ320Neo, 2018:

The Airbus adds more long-legged range to the flight with an advanced narrow body. It can go up to 6000 nautical miles. The ACJ also featured fly-by-wire controls, which makes the work easier for the pilots. Passengers may find themselves entertained with the TV options and wireless internet options available on the flight. 

Gulfstream G700, 2020:

With so many new models and brands coming up, Gulfstream wasn’t going to stand on the sidelines and watch. They came up with an impressive foundation which was the G700, in the year 2020.  High thrust Rolls-Royce Pearl turbofans propel the G700, with a range up to 7500 nautical miles. The passengers enjoy plush leather seatings and whisper-quiet surroundings in the G700.
